“A good central base in Windsor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

This hotel has greatly improved over the last few years and after this stay I would not consider anywhere else now for my annual weekend visit to Windsor. All staff encountered during my visit were very helpful and professional. I was part of a group who had booked 5 rooms between us and we all had an enjoyable stay with no complaints. I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Windsor.

We booked this travelodge for 4 night's, two adult's and two children. We arrived by train which is really easy. The train station is a few minutes walk to the travelodge and you don't here the trains.
Check in was really easy, we were given a top floor room looking at the castle. The view was lovely. The room was very clean, had two full size single beds for the children and coffee and tea facilities.
The only slight problem it was a boiling hot room.
Its in a brilliant location and it was our second visit here. The shops are right ouside the travelodge and theres a waitrose and little morrisons extra store a few minutes away.
We stayed her to do Legoland and visit London for the day. We could get the Legoland bus near the castle and when we went to London the train was about 30 minutes to Paddington.
Breakfast was just what we needed, cereal and a cooked breakfast. The layout is a bit dangerous in my view and i said this in my last review of the hotel. Its all squashed into one corner and there is a lot of children in and out getting what they need. im sure some of it could be moved to make it easy to get to with out getting in each others way.
If you leave your window open at night it can get noisy from the people that are out at the bars and restaurants, also your in the flight path for Heathrow. If its a problem then shut your window.

This hotel is right in the centre of Windsor and in the middle of the shopping district. We booked this hotel because all we needed was somewhere to stay following a function. We normally book spa-type hotels so we can relax and use the facilites, however, we didn't have time to do that on this occasion.
It's a basic, budget hotel, but we knew that's what we were booking so it was fine.
Our room was clean, warm and quiet.
We parked in the shopping centre car park; the hotel have a special rate for guests so although it wasn't free, it wasn't as expensive as the normal rate.
The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful, and we received a lovely welcome on arrival.
We'd stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago and returned as we were visiting family in the area.

The rooms themselves seem to have been refurbished, the bed was very comfortable, though the bathroom was a little tired.

We arrived fairly late, were given a warm welcome and soon up to our room.

We had the breakfast buffet, we chose the same time as nearly every other resident, but the staff were not phased by the rush and ensured that tables were cleared and breakfast items regularly replenished, it was pretty tasty as well.

As we were touring we parked in the Shopping Centres car park, quite expensive at £20 but having the ticket validated brought the price down to £12, and to be quite honest we couldn't be bothered to look for cheaper, less convenient, parking.

All in all, another good stay, a good location at a good price.

Great location with fabulous view out over Windsor Castle from our room (8th floor). The rooms are standard travelodge rooms, not the biggest but clean and quiet. The shower wasn't very powerful. Staff were friendly, helpful and breakfast was fine.

The hotel is well located for the castle, watching the guard change, the park, the swimming pool, river boat trips, shops and lots of places to eat. Everything was within easy walking distance for the kids (4&6). Overall great value for money, we would stay there again.

Room Tip: Eight floor, castle view

Yes I know its a budget hotel, that's why I stayed there but... you shouldn't have paint peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom and the bedroom.

The rooms themselves were clean and everything that you'd expect from Travelodge (i.e. nothing in them, sparse and budget like.)

The communal areas are also need of some TLC.

Fine for a cheap night on business but I wouldn't take my family there.

Room Tip: Often you can book family rooms for the same price as the normal rooms. These are typically quieter.

This hotel is perfectly located to enjoy all that Windsor has to offer right on your doorstep. We knew from reading all the other reviews that we weren't going to a luxury four star establishment, but let's get the negative comments out of the way first. In the room there were dirty marks on the walls which looked like mud smeared by small hands, and which would not have taken much cleaning off. The toilet which was presumably quite old was badly stained with black limescale build up below the waterline and the seat was coming off its hinges. As the hotel is right under the approach path for Heathrow airport, it was no surprise that planes were passing overhead every few minutes, but be warned they do start flying pretty early in the morning. On the plus side, having asked in advance for a room with a view of the castle we were delighted to be given an upgrade to a family room at no extra charge which had a lovely view across the town to the castle. We had no night time noise from clubbers, the railway or other guests, so we would definitely recommend a room on the 8th floor on the castle side. Breakfast on the Saturday was OK if a bit on the cool side, but we opted to try elsewhere for Sunday morning - there are loads of eateries within a very close proximity to the hotel. All in all this is a cheap hotel from which to explore Windsor, and it is dated and tired looking and in need of some serious TLC, but the staff we encountered were all friendly, the bed was really comfortable, and we got our castle view, so we were pretty happy with what we got.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 8th floor on the castle side are quieter
