“Good for Legoland”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Booked this hotel for one night as we were going to LEGOLAND the following day. Took a while to find exactly where it was from the multi-storey car park as you have to walk through the high street shops. Our room was clean and comfortable with a view of Windsor Castle over the rooftops of the surrounding shops. The sites of Windsor were all within walking distance and LEGOLAND was a 5 minute drive away. Breakfast was buffet style and check in was quick. Good budget hotel.

I booked this hotel to see my son at an event in Windsor Castle. The location was ideal as the castle is only a short walk away. My visit coincided with racing at Royal Ascot and the hotel was busy. The room was a good size and was above the main entrance which is a short walk from the King Edward Shopping Centre car park. Parking for 24 hrs was expensive but you do get a small discount via reception. Ventilation in the room was poor and the window could only be opened a few inches. There was a fan provided but this was not sufficient. Aircraft noise stops during the night but this was replaced by drunk smokers in the courtyard below which went on to past 2am. Two nights was enough! The breakfast was only warm but plenty of choice. I found a cafe nearby offering a full English breakfast for £5, freshly cooked and excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room if they have such a room

Booked two nights via telephone, Post code details for sat nav were no where near where we should have been so don't rely on that. Having said that you want to be in the King Edward Court shopping centre multi story car park level 4B. The hotel is just outside to the left a prime position for a stay in Windsor central. The hotel is in a fantastic position 200yds from windsor castle.
Breakfasts which we paid extra for were ok.

Room Tip: we was in room 822 level 8 nice room. Aircraft spotters paradise

We booked this well in advance so we could attend a university open day with our daughter in west London. It was quite expensive at over £50 per night but I guess that's because of the central location. Perfect for shops, restaurants, castle etc.
However, our room was at the back on the 7th floor and the sun had been on it all afternoon. The curtains were closed when we arrived on Friday evening but the room was still far too hot. There was no air conditioning and the windows only opened a couple of inches.
This wasn't too bad until around about midnight when were woken by drunk people shouting loudly as they passed by and boy racers with ridiculously loud exhausts wheel spinning and racing back and forth.
This continued until about 3am!!!!
Needless to say we were quite tired the following day.

We were so tired on Saturday night that we went to bed quite early in the hope that we would sleep through any noise. Alas not! There were even more drunk people this time. Maybe there was only one way home and it passed beneath our window.
My wife got up and closed the window but it quickly became too hot. Luckily by the time she opened it again the drunks had gone and we managed some sleep before the work began outside at 8am.

As I said, this hotel is in a great location but it needs air conditioning so the windows can be kept closed.

booked last minute so not sure whether price would be cheaper otherwise. Given that the hotel is right in the centre (middle of shopping area), I think it's still good value.

Positives:
-Location, location, location
-Friendly staff, much better than snobbish staff at 5 star hotels
-Large room
-Bed linen white and clean
-Satisfactory facilities (TV, kettle etc)
-Good sound insulation between rooms
-Price is relatively good value

Improvement Points:
-Noise from outside can be annoying but not a problem when windows are shut.
-You can't shut the windows because it's TOO HOT in the room even when it's cool outside. Could not sleep.
-Bathroom did not feel well cleaned and floor is yucky lino, tiles would be better.
-No hotel parking so shopping area parking is 20 pounds overnight and discounted at 12 by the hotel. Parking should be free for 80-100 pounds per night hotel.
-Fresh paint and cleaning of corridors, lifts and carpet renewal is due

The room was very clean, the staff brilliant, but as the weather was quite warm, the room was too hot, no fan in the room. Breakfast priced at approx £7.65 and all you can eat. I would stay here again
