“Friendly owners and good value, but not high end”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Hello, This is a cheap and cheerful sort of place. The owners run a corner-shop below and parking is in a nice garden in the back.

Friendly owner and very clean.

A few small things - they didn't answer the phone when I rang (calling back 15 min later) and didn't provide an iron when they said they'd leave one outside my door.

Yes it is noisy - early planes take off from the airport, a train is nearby and if you get a roadside room you get the traffic. But it is a lot cheaper than what you'd pay elsewhere... (I paid £65)

Breakfast was slow - but they served name brand juice, tea, coffee etc, and will do a full cooked if you want that.

The guesthouse is spotlessly clean and the owners charming. Hard to find in the backstreets of Windsor it is located above an off license on a busy noisy road. The accommodation is on the first floor up very steep stairs with narrow treads so I had to go up sideways. The tower aircon unit in my room was noisy and ineffective. My room wasn't ensuite so I had use of a shared bathroom. The bedroom doors are very heavy and hard to open. The continental breakfast was very good with a wide selection.

I booked 3 nights for a weekend break in Windsor which was marketed as a mile away!! It was over 2 miles and a good 30 min walk, which we did a few times; luckily the weather was good. Everything was basic but clean. Car park was a very tight squeeze for a Mondeo, anything bigger forget it. Breakfast was ok but done on the cheap ingredients wise. We were lucky getting an en-suite as other guests had to share a bathroom which wasn't stipulated. It was very noisy as on a main road & flight path, but it was the air con fans from the pub next door stopping & starting all night was the worse for us. Had to keep windows closed but there was a fan to use. No extra pillows provided so we asked for another one each but only got one. Had to pay in cash at the end of our stay. Wouldn't recommend staying here unless average is ok for you.

Room Tip: Room 5 is a double and has an en-suite

We booked a family room (3 adults) via Expedia from Australia for a 1 night stay. Found the "guest house" very hard to locate as the rooms are located above a convenience store and St Leonard's road is split in 3 places. Once located we found the room tiny which consisted of a double bed and bunk beds which was too small for my 22 yo daughter (feet over end). Bed was pushed to wall so we could fit in luggage and floor was dirty with fluff and dirt that had not seen a vacuum for some time. Next morning we had to have cold shower as hot water had run out? Entry to car park was also a very tight squeeze for a mid size sedan and located on very busy road so opening windows for ventilation provided a lot of noise.
On a positive note the location is close to Windsor Castle, Heathrow Airport and some attractions, The breakfast was fine but name suggests it is a guest house but my feeling that this provides an unreal expectation to potential guests as really it is only rooms above shops.
Pub meal next door was fantastic and staff very friendly and I should booked accommodation with them.

My friends and I stayed at this guest house as we were having a night out in Windsor.

I booked the room direct on their website and as we were 3 girls I asked for the largest triple ensuite room. When we got there the owner wasn't there but the guy in the shop had our keys (he was very friendly & helpful) sadly the room although well decorated and very clean, was very small and we had 'apparently' sole use of the bathroom across the hall. Not particularly convenient.

I spoke to the owner on the phone & said we would have breakfast at 9, the next morning when we turned up at 9 a big fuss was made about breakfast finishing at 9 & we were really made to feel rather uncomfortable, however about 10 minutes later another family arrived and were treated like practical royalty in comparison.

On the whole the guest house is nice but they need to work a little on their customer service to become great.

Allow me to start with the good things about this hotel, firstly it is one of the closest accommodation to Legoland, besides the obvious Legoland hotel. Next, it includes breakfast.

We went there as a family of 4 including a small kid. We specifically booked a Family room for 4 with En-Suite facilities. We made the reservation through their website not through any other travel booking webpage. Upon arrival, the owner apologised that their family room has been taken due to a booking earlier than ours. We have made the online booking two weeks prior to check in.

As a result, we as a family had to be divided into two separate rooms, one without en-suite facilities (not even a shared bathroom). The whole trip was supposed to be a treat and due to this issue it was a total disappointment that we as a family could not stay together in the same room. Worst is that the other room without en-suite facilities has to come over to the other room with facilities to share the bathroom and toilet! There was a public bathroom and toilet to be shared with other rooms within the guest house but the owner already promised another guest that the supposedly shared bathroom and toilet can be solely for their use. The owner advised us to leave our bedroom door open during the night so that we can use the toilet in the other room with en-suite facilities. This is completely outrages!

We also noted that there were no shampoo or shower gel available in the guest rooms. Even many basic B&B provides soap, shampoo or shower gel.

After some reasoning with the owner, the owner promised to refund a portion of the rent to us due to the issues. The owner agreed to refund us through online payment but this never materialised even after many follow up phone calls and emails. Lesson learned. never visit this guest house again.

Always difficult booking accomodation from overseas especially for seven. Apart from being a little difficult to find and to get our seven seater into the parking lot, this place served us well. The owners were friendly and served up a nice breakfast. Fortunately we had reviewed this place on Trip Advisor and so were able to recognize the place when were were passing by for the first time and were ready for the very narrow entrance to the parking lot.
