On approach to the Rokeby Guest House you are confronted with a beautifully kept historic house in a lovely setting. The garden round the back of the house is a peaceful haven. Once inside you find the house is full of character and charm. There is a brochure in the room giving the interesting history behind the guest house. The hosts, Karen & Mark are very friendly and helpful and have a wonderful sense of humour. They wil willingly give you all the local knowledge you need to be able to plan your day, Excellent choice of menu for breakfast which is well prepared and beautifully cooked and is served in a lovely bright, spacious conservatory. Rooms are immaculate and very well presented. I would highly recommend a stay there.

Room Tip: They are all good!

A lovely small hotel set in a Victorian house close to the attractions of Salisbury. The room was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was served in the lovely conservatory and included a great choice, including a good choice of cooked options.

The owners were very friendly and I would definitely recommend a stay at this lovely hotel.

This is a quality B&B and a great location as base, for exploring the Neolithic landscapes (Stonehenge & Avebury) as well as other numerous surrounding places of historical significance. Our room was large, clean and well appointed with a nice en-suite and generous bed. Our hosts were attentive and very helpful. Breakfast was first rate and served with pride and good conversation. Parking however, was a slight issue as space was limited. The walk into the center of town (Salisbury) was easy to navigate both to and from "Rokeby" so driving and finding a park in town wasn't an issue. We stayed for three nights and would stay again.

Thank you for a wonderful review. We really appreciate it.

We just thought we would take this opportunity to clarify the parking situation. We are very lucky here at Rokeby to be able to offer 8 parking spaces free of charge. Whilst this can, indeed, be limited, it is a priviledge to have it, and indeed most B & Bs and even some hotels in Salisbury offer no parking whatsoever. We would just like to say, therefore, that if there isn't room on the drive, there is plenty of roadside parking and we will happily issue parking permits.

So for anyone who loves their car and parking is of paramount importance, please don't be put off my negative comments about the parking, and just embrace the fact that we have free parking to offer in the first place.

Our first B&B visit and what a perfect place to start. The initial greeting, the rooms, the beds, chance meeting with the owner - all beyond expectations. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding. Sad to say we only spent one night but next time we are in Salisbury - guess where we will be staying. Thank you Mark and Karen for a perfect stay!

This guest house is full of character and ideal for an overnight stay near Salisbury. The parking was quite tight in the driveway, but you could park on the road with no restrictions after 6pm and all day Sundays. The owners were welcoming, gave us all the necessary information and left us to it.

The walk into Salisbury only takes 10mins and was hassle free. The owners even offered us an umbrella in case it rained.

We had room 5 which was nicely decorated, large and modern. This room was at the front of the house, overlooking the main road but I didn't hear any traffic. Excellent shower. Tea and coffee making facilities in room provided, with a full size kettle that took ages to boil! I needed a glass of water in the night and would have liked access to some drinking water, maybe a bottle of water could have been provided in the room?

The hair dryer wasn't great, would advise taking your own. I also thought the room was cold. Spare pillows and hand towels are in the wardrobe, not sure why as everyone needs a hand towel to dry their hands at least.

The bed was really comfortable, but we feared over-sleeping in case we missed breakfast! It's only served between 8-9am at weekends, could have done with another half an hour at least. Saying that, the breakfast was very good, with lots of options on the menu. Huge pots of tea and coffee provided. Toast was just warm bread at first but they re-did ours with no trouble. They also let us borrow their newspaper, though I'm surprised there were no newspapers available for guests to read at breakfast? Check out is at 10am and was swift.

All in all, a good guest house. Good value and ideally situated.

Large room, very nicely furnished, comfortable bedding and welcoming staff as well. Delicious breakfast in an incredibly welcoming setting. A few negative points but still a great stay.

Room was quite cold, and the wifi wouldn't connect. I'm sure this could have been fixed but you shouldn't have to ask. The room was downstairs and we could here people above in the morning. Plus the bathroom had a saniflo system which was very noisy. Therefore I would recommend asking for a room upstairs.

This is an excellent BnB. I stayed here on a business trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are clean, the place is quiet so it's easy to sleep and the shower is excellent. The owners are very helpful and kind and clearly work very hard to make everyone's experience at the Rokeby very good. What really impressed me, though, was the breakfast. It was probably the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. Unlike the normal buffet, where the food sits out and gets cold and never remains fresh, the owners cook the breakfast for each person there and then. The English breakfast and the pancakes with maple syrup were delicious. It would be great to have tried the other items on the menu! The only downside, which contributed to not giving this a 5 star, was that it is indeed as others have said, a 10 minute walk to the town centre. It's not a big deal, but, of course, the closer to town, the better.
