Retreat Inn had no record of our on-line reservation - but accommodated us nevertheless as a walk-in (thankfully it is not high season - but we could have been stuck had it not been November). Beds were okay but the bathroom was a big turnoff. It was not clean and will never ever feel clean - it really needs renovation. Low water pressure and icky shower curtain reinforce the bad bathroom. Hotel is stingy with the towels: just two for a four person "family" room! When the bars empty out in the wee hours, Milford Street is very noisy. Good breakfast. Parking okay. Great location.

The Retreat Inn is in the midst of a refurbishment and quite frankly it needs to include the staff because they just didn't really know what they were doing.

Initially I booked a twin room and was then offered a double, which was inappropriate when I asked for a twin they then offered me a completely unrefurbished family room. On my third attempt they gave me a lovely room but which had no kettle. A small thing really and I thought that all was well and good which it was until 1.30am when the night club opposite began clearing out. There was a lot of drunken stumbling and general mayhem that went on until 4am. In the mean time I had to go and sleep on the bathroom floor, which even at £35pn felt a little expensive.

My suggestion is to ask for a room at the back and if you are in a front room use ear plugs.
