We found this great little restaurant on a shopping trip to Salisbury ... it was the great smells of good, fresh cooking which attracted us. Inside is a comfortable, friendly little place (yes, sorry, space is a wee bit limited on the ground floor but DON'T let that put you off because there's 2? more floors above) with friendly and helpful staff. The food is traditional (and modern, too) and very tasty ... we both had roast of the day, and thoroughly enjoyed same. The menu is varied with a good selection of mains and desserts and quite a few daily specials too, It seems to be a very popular lunchtime haunt, full of regulars and visitors together. Service is quite quick, even although the restaurant was crowded and the meals seem to be freshly prepared, and it was service-with-a-smile.
