“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

Of course there are cathedrals throughout the British Isles and Europe. This one is impressive. I thought the oldest modern clock was cool along with choir seating along either side of the middle aisle near the pipe organ. It's a nice bit of history and well worth seeing. Plenty of places nearby to have lunch or tip a pint.

“Great stop in Salisbury - don't miss it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

If you are headed to Stonehenge, you should complete your trip with a visit to see the cathedral! It is an easy jump to visit. Make sure you park outside of town and jump the park and ride bus. It is cheap and easy and eliminates the difficulties and possible fines of driving into the town.

One of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta is on display and the Cathedral itself is worth the trip!

“Epic-ly Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

Salisbury Cathedral was the first old-world cathedral I visited, and after seeing other cathedrals in major European cities, it may still be my favorite. It is big. It is impressive. It is awesome. The architecture is amazing, both inside and out. Throw in the world's first working clock and the Magna Carta and you have an epic experience.

One thing I would recommend is to try to stay in Salisbury the night before. There are many unique lodging options in the city, and staying locally allows you to get to the cathedral earlier. We arrived around 9:00 and had the entire place more or less to ourselves...totally different experience than some of the other more popular cathedrals.

“Worth a visit if you don't mind paying”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

The cathedral is really impressive and it's worth seeing the Magna Carta. It's quite dark inside and difficult to photograph but it has some lovely features such as the stained glass windows. The recommended donation is £6.50 which is a bit on the steep side.

“Amazing Cathdral”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

This a beautifully preserved Cathedral with lovely surroundings. The park and land around the cathedral are free to visit as is the inner courtyard. There is a copy of the Magna Carta on display inside for a small fee (3 pounds). You can see the inside of the Cathedral for free if you attend a service there. This is a really beautiful place in a lovely town and well worth a visit!
