Recently it was my 60th birthday, and my family booked this restaurant as a surprise treat, 7 of us in all, my elderly dad, to foot the bill. At the very last minute he decided he wasn't well enough to go, so now 6 of us.My mum and I were driven there by one of my sons, and whilst he waited outside for the other 3 members of my family to arrive, my mum and i went in. When I told the lady behind the bar that we had a booking for 7 but now only 6, the man in charge (owner, manager?) went beserk , slapping his thighs, puffing, hands on hips, gesticulating at the table, raised his voice. My mum, who has dementia and is 84 didn't really cotton on to what the commotion was all about, I said I was SO sorry but i hadn't been able to ring them to say, because i didn't know where we were going until i arrived. The meal was pleasant enough, the bill £330 (2 tee totallers) but I couldn't wait to get out, and will never go back, nor will i recommend it to anyone.I work in a customer facing role every day, and if i had subjected any of my customers to that disgraceful hissy fit, I would be sacked on the spot. A special birthday meal wrecked!
