“Fantastic pakoras”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

It was about 20years since the four of us had visited this establishment and due to high tripadvisor ratings decided to visit.Excellent pakoras best probably I have tasted. However I can't say the same of the pea paneer.Think I made the wrong choice as all other mains looked great.Service good although we waited 20mins to be seated even though a booking was made and there is very little if no bar area.

Thank you for your review and welcome back to The Corner Cafe! Great to hear that you liked the pakoras. Next time you visit, have a word with either Karim or I and we will suggest a suitable main course for you. Regarding the waiting area - we are a small restaurant with limited tables and, as such, it can be difficult to be 100% accurate with booking times. I am sorry that you had to wait for your table - we must have been very busy on the night of your visit. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

“Amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Me and my partner have been visitors to the Corner Cafe for a number of years now and never had we had a bad experience. After a long hiatus we recently returned and were met with the same warm welcome as ever from Kate and her staff. The menu although has increased in price slightly, as expected, the food is the same great quality and is fantastic.

Highly recommended!!

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Leeds is notable for 2 things (in my opinion only... ): First, the bizarre architecture which combines stately Victorian buildings, awful 1960's lumps of concrete and slightly more interesting modern buildings laid out in apparently haphazard and organic fashion and second, the worst road system in a Northern city creating the impression that the road planners threw lengths of string at the city map and decided to build roads wherever they fell.
Now it is niotable for a third thing: the Corner Cafe on Burley Road.
An amazing selection of real ales, chilled or room temperature sets you up nicely for some very interesting curries. Helpful explanatory cards would make even the novice feel at home. The service was very warm and friendly and the home made kulfi delicious.
If I lived nearer Leeds this would become a regular favourite.
Of course, if you don't live in Leeds you'll need a SatNav to find it, but don't count on that helping too much with the road system.....

Hi - Not sure I would agree with you about the road layout in Leeds- (but then I do live here!). Glad that you managed to find us, and more importantly that you enjoyed your evening with us. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on this site.

“Best vegetarian curry in Leeds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013 via mobile

The title says it all really, but combined with the quality of the food is the selection of real ales (bottles) and the fine conversations to be had with the proprietor about it's history, food & beers!
