This local park attracting must be one of the county's largest and best parks with four free car parks and roadside parking available. It has two large man made lakes allowing fishing and a footpath to be able to walk all the way around them. Both used to have rowing boats on them but not anymore, but there is talk of them coming back. The upper lake is the smallest but still a large lake has a large fountain in the middle, and Waterloo lake is the largest which takes about 30 minutes to walk around at a leisurely pace. At one end of the lake there is a cafe with a varanda overlooking the lake, serving excelent snacks and light meals, cakes tea, coffee ETC which can be recomended. The canal gardens and Tropical world are a must visit Been at the North West of he park. The canal gardens are long established gardens around long raised rectangular ponds made to look like canals. Tropical world is a large purpose built indoor walk around tropical garden housing such things as snakes, small mammals, fish tanks, butterfly's, monkeys and a colony of meerkats and much more at a reasonable cost. The mansion house serves meals but never been so can't comment on this. In the center of the park is a large outdoor arena area arena area which has been used for local gala's, cricket and seen such bands as the Rolling Stones perform their. Also on the north west side there are countless field sport pitches for games like football etc. On show on the north side are Chelsea show Leeds winning entry's in there own gardens which are well worth a visit.
