“Creative and Tasty but Slightly Pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Was having to catch a train in the morning but wanted a nice warm cooked breakfast so I popped into this cafe as I saw they had quite an extensive breakfast menu.

They had avocado on toast, scrambled eggs with toast, sausage with toast etc. I ordered the scrambled eggs with a latte and my brother ordered the sausage with toast. The staff were very understanding when we told them it had to be quite quick because we had to catch a train. The food was served within ten minutes.

The bread used was homemade with grains; very big chunky slices and absolutely delicious. The scrambled eggs were perfect - velvety and not too salty or overdone. My brother enjoyed his sausage with the huge toast slices. The latte was also very strong but served at drinking temperature. So if you're into pipping hot coffee you have to tell the staff that.

The cakes looked tasty - gingerbread, gluten free options, blondies; about £2 each so slightly pricey. I'd say a great cafe if you're looking for a slightly creative menu, with good coffee and great service but on the pricey end. Its near the Leeds Corn Exchange and city center so perfect for those not wanting to venture too far.

“Best decaff coffee I've ever had”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

Nice to have another decent independent alternative to Starbucks and the rest. This place makes the best decaff coffee I've ever tasted and that, together with the atmosphere and the friendly staff, make this my favourite place to kill half an hour. The cakes look good but I do wish they'd cover them up. They also do a mean sausage sandwich.

“Cute and quirky!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

I've lived in Leeds since 2009 but was only introduced to this gorgeous cafe a few weeks ago by a friend and have been back since. Lovely selection of freshly made cakes and desserts, including some that are vegan/gluten free etc. Also sells a range of freshly made sandwiches and hot and cold drinks. Everything is served on very pretty china which ties in with the overall vintage quirky theme. I had the toasted crumpets and a large slab of freshly made Victoria sponge cake which melted in my mouth! Highly recommend this cafe and which I had known about it sooner! LOVE! :-)

“Why go to Starbucks when you can have Mrs Atha's?!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013 via mobile

Honestly you'd be a freak to choose a chain over Mrs Atha's. Soulful building, china teacups and furniture, with DELICIOUS cakes and coffee (all for a brilliant price). I love it here.

It was bordering on being a bit hipster-ish and studenty the past few times i've been in, but the staff are really nice and there's a variety of ages in the customer base so it doesn't feel too much like an American Apparel advert! ;)

Basically, ditch your Costa and get over to Mrs Atha's.

“A lovely place to catch up with friends!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

A quirky vintage style cafe with a fantastic menu and chef to boot.

Had a cup of english breakfast and scrambled eggs on toast. Sounds quite boring but it was amazing. All the food is locally sourced and organic.

The staff are so friendly. They have a huge selection of teas. My friend had a lemongrass tea which is great if you want a decaf tea.

It was so good we went back in the afternoon for tea and cake.

If you want to get away from the noisey Trinity Centre, head to this place.

Oh-free wifi also a bonus!
