“A comfortable stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

The room was small, but for my 1 night was fine. Nice bar with pleasant staff.Just outside is a Sainsburys plus restaurants.A 3 minute walk along the canal bank brings you to the Royal Amouries.NO complaints at all about my stay.

Just had a one night stay on a Saturday night.About 5 minutes walk to the centre, so quiet, but within easy reach of city centre. All public areas and room spotlessly clean. Comfy beds. Had a great nights sleep. Check in quick and easy. Bar prices were really reasonable for a city centre hotel. All in all great value for money.

Room Tip: High floor for better view

The room we were given was huge although there was some mix up over a babies cot, mainly because there were other guests booked in the hotel on the same night with our surname who had been allowed to alter our booking in some mix-up. Thank god the other people hadn't cancelled although the fact our booking was changed by someone else was very worrying and enough to prevent me giving five stars.

Everything was sorted quickly and we were happy with our room. It was a clean sizeable family room (double bed, sofa bed and room for a cot which was provided on request) on the 5th floor which was quiet and had a sweeping view across the Leeds suburbs. The hotel is in a regenerated cobbled quarter on the outskirts of Leeds city centre. There is a mini sainsbury's next door for any essentials, with restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity but even on a Saturday night it wasn't loud or unsafe feeling.

Breakfast was a mixed bag. On welcoming us to breakfast we weren't shown to a seat, you pick your own and we were not offered a highchair for our baby -on seeing there were none available to help ourself we went back to the guy ticking us off the register and eventually a highchair was provided. Why you wouldn't ask if a highchair was needed when seeing the guests have a baby is beyond me. The breakfast itself was a plentiful, tasty, buffet of the sort you get in resort hotels which was kept well stocked and was exceptional value for money (and I rarely think hotel breakfasts are worth what you are charged). Pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast, cheese, freshly cooked items, endless coffee, tea or juice. You could eat enough to see you through lunch if you wanted. The only word of advice is get breakfast early before nine at the weekend if you can, to avoid the hungover stag and hen dos. It's not that they are a problem they simply are not quite 'with it' and do everything as a big group creating queues as they slowly work out if they want sausage or bacon or getting in the way generally with conversations about the night before being held around the buffet so you can't get to anything.

Room Tip: The higher the better

I stayed at this hotel for the second time on Sunday 3rd February. The hotel has just undergone a refurb which really enhances the ground floor area. Although the hotel does not have a car park there is plenty of street parking and a large open air car park next to the hotel - chargeable but reasonable (remember to have coins for the machines or there is a telephone card service). The hotel is a short walk using the foot bridge from the city centre. My company had incorrectly booked a room only rate without breakfast, although this was quickly resolved without contention by the helpful reception staff. Good quality food both for room service and breakfast.

Would recommend...

Room Tip: Remember coins for parking.. Probably ten minutes walk from station as oppose to the five stated

We stayed at the Jurys Inn for a weekend away with the family. We were greeted by friendly reception staff who checked us in quickly. The hotel was nicely refurbished with good decor in the lobby and within the rooms. When we arrived at the room, it was all clean apart from some stains on the back of one of the curtains, hence I have only marked the cleanliness as average. Other than this all aspects were clean. A quick phone call to reception and we were moved to an even nicer and bigger room, with no fuss at all. Breakfast was a little pricey at £10 each, we could have eaten in the many restaraunts close to the hotel, but we opted to eat in the hotel for conviniecne. Breakfast consisted of cereal, cooked breakfast and toast/bread rolls. They even supplied vegetarian sausages much to my delight! The car park stated on the website is pricey, but directly opposite is the carlsberg brewery where you can park for £3 all day. For 2 day stays simply print 2 tickets off and leave in your window.

Room Tip: The 6th floor had lovely room, very recently refurbished. The brewery car park opposite is £3 all da...

Stayed here for a night in January on an organised tour.

Rooms were spotless, simple and practical. Hot water hot and air conditioning good.

We had dinner in the restaurant which wasn't anything flash but edible. Breakfast was much better.

Staff were friendly. WIFI was not included which was a bit of a bummer.
