“Faboulous Hotel, want to go back next weekend !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2010

What a wonderful place for a complete chill out weekend. As soon as you go thru' the reception doors area there was a real fire burning, then you just enter a whole array of bars/eating areas/lounges etc. Very impressed with the decor, modern very tastefully done.
Staff very very friendly and helpful, not too much trouble. Rooms lovely, spotlessly clean and massive (I think ours was executive?-my boyfriend booked it for a romantic weekend bless)
Dinner was wonderful, pool/spa facilities also fantastic.
If I had to put one negative comment, it would only be there was a big queue for breakfast tables then again for hot breakfast, but the food was lovely, especially the 'award winning Yorkshire sausage'.
Would go back again without doubt, great for couples but would be great for a girli spa break too !!!

I booked the autumn special with the night away full use of spa facilities, x3 course meal and breakfast the next day and it was well worth the money!! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly in the restuarant and spa, rooms were lovely and clean, real attention to detail at this hotel. Me and my husband stayed at the shire hotel in knutsford in october and this beat it hands down.
This was a treat for my husbands birthday and we had a fantastic time and will bee booking to stay again before christmas with our parents as we enjoyed it so much. The next day we caught a tai into leeds and did some shopping, its just the right distance away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
FANTASTIC!! Thanks to all staff at this hotel hope to see you all again soon.

Their moto - small things, big difference is very apt. This was my second stay at Thorpe Park hotel. The first was also excellent and of a different nature being a hen weekend. This time I stayed with my family including a baby of 3 months and toddler of 2y. Yet again, I was impressed by the standards and care taken to make our stay so comfortable and memorable. The fact that both visits, so different, yet both great are a testament to the versatility of this hotel. Well done to the staff - always so helpful and friendly. We were always welcome for dinner - compliments to the chef - the food was superb, the little touches for our toddler such as cookie & milk at bedtime really made our stay special. Our 2 year old loved the pool and ensured a good level of exhaustion prior to bedtime. The rooms were clean and the interconnecting room ensured good nights sleep for all.

The only negative comment is that the carpet in the room could have done with replacing. Although clean, it was very worn and stained. Otherwise, would highly recommend this for families with young children who are looking for hotels (rather than self-catering) as a welcoming, high quality hotel.

Hotel was clean and tidy, although the room itself smelt stale.

Location was excellent for access to motorway and Leeds and was surprisingly quiet. The staff were friendly.

We didn't like the cost of a single expresso (£4.10 each) the number of different staff who served dinner, giving you the menu and taking it away, then asking what you wanted.
The temperature in the room was difficult to control and seemed to have a mind of its own. The one and only lift broke down which is not great when you are on the top floor

Booked in to Thorpe Park and spa for 1 night. It was my partners 50th so decided to splash out and go for a suite. We were not disappointed.
Arrived at the hotel at about 11.45am with the intention of booking in and using the pool and spa area, but it was such a lovely day decided to go for a walk to temple newsome which was a short 5 minute drive away.
Arrived back at the hotel at 2.15pm and was told that our room was not ready due to the last occupants leaving late. We were asked if we wanted to wait in the bar area and free drinks were given due to the delay. the room was ready for 3pm. We were very happy with the size of the suite, a lovely sitting area, and the biggest and most comfiest bed that I have ever slept in. All the little touches made it a very special break. In our fridge we had a large bottle of sparkling water, a small bottle of wine, 2 beers, 2 cokes 2, fresh orange juices and a carton of milk. We also had a coffee making machine, with various varieties of coffee, various teas and biscuits.
We had booked the evening meal for 8pm and with it being a Sunday this was taken in the courtyard. On the whole the meal was excellent , we both had the king prawns with chilli dip, I then had the lamb chops and shepherds pie, cooked to perfection, My partner had the 9oz steak which was very small and tough, we did not complain because every thing else had been great , especially the service.
I had booked some treatments for both of us the following day, but because this was not till 1pm we had time to take a leisurely breakfast. We then went for a swim and sauna. I did feel that this part let the hotel down slightly. The area around the pool to sit was quite cluttered, there were wet towels left on all the sun loungers with no one on them. This resulted in me and my partner having no where to sit. It also looked quite untidy with newspapers and drinking cups etc left around. The highlight of our stay was the treatments in the spa. I had booked a package which included back massage with hot stones, a facial and an Indian head massage. My husband was not too sure about having the treatments as he had never had a massage before....... he is now completely hooked. So much so that when we arrived home he has told me to look for any special offers, this time his treat. all in all a lovely stay and I would recommend the hotel to any one. One word of warning you are surrounded by the motorway and was quite noisy but with the windows closed you could not hear a thing

Stayed at the hotel last weekend, check in was very quick, room was ready straight away, was asked if we would like to book dinner, we said not at the moment, but it was nice to be asked, room was clean, tidy, bathrooms clean tidy, pleanty of hangers, nice robes, very comfy bed, ate lunch in the courtyard menu very good plenty of choice and good wine, service was excellant and couldn't fault it, we choose to have room service in the evening for a snack, again excellant service, very attentive, even though they had forgooten to bring our drinks withthe food within 5 mins drinks arrived,
Breakfast again good , no queues which was very good considering the hotel was busy!!
The location of the hotel is slighlty away from the city centre but we had a taxi which was £10 so not too bad and it arrived within 5 mins.
Evening meal in the restaurant was good, service was slighly poor in the fact that we had to wait for a drink till after we had ordered, but that was my only niggle.
My biggest compaint was that the room phone rang at approx 1.45 am (in a deep sleep) only to be asked to be quiet, we were both sound asleep and i think that somebody should have checked the room number was the correct one before ringing!!
Checking out was very quick and agian with no problems the bill being correct and thanking us for staying, would go back again.

This is a brilliant hotel that I have been lucky enough to visit several times with my parents as they love it.
The staff are amazing, so friendly. The food is great..local, well cooked and plentiful.
I love the gym, pool etc and the rooms are always so well looked after.
It really does feel like a home away from home. I can't wait to go back.
