I tend to regard the Deer Park as somewhere to meet up with friends or business colleagues because it a good pub that serves good food. Having said that, on my last visit, the lunchtime menu had changed (they tend to change the menu a lot) and there were no sandwiches, which for someone who doesn't like a big lunch, meant that I had to choose a starter-sized main course. I have never had a bad meal here, either at lunchtime or in the evening. The service can be a bit hit and miss at times, and if you are ordering a drink at the bar, there never seems to be enough staff on hand.
