“Christmas Weekend in Leeds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We booked into the Leeds Marriott as part of my birthday surprise. The staff were immediately very helpful and made us feel very welcome. There is a bar attached to the hotel as well as an Indian Restaurant and a Steak House. We ordered room service from the Indian AM on the first night and it was very tasty and not very expensive for room service at all.

The only problem we encountered was that our bed was very uncomfortable and lumpy. Neither of us slept well for the first night and so tentatively asked whether we could change rooms. The staff immediately said this would not be a problem and our bags were moved while we were exploring Leeds in the day. Our new bed was much more comfortable and this small problem did not ruin our trip, in many ways due to the very professional way the staff dealt with our request to move rooms.

The breakfast was enjoyable and again the staff were very helpful.

We would definitely use this hotel again, should we visit Leeds in the future.

A very much faded hotel in need of an update. Does not look after marriott reward members. No free wifi unlike other hotels in the chain. Very Disappointing.

Stayed in 408. Room was a decent size with all amenities needed. Bathroom was very old and dated. You would get more wet standing outside in the rain than using the shower.
Very noisy vent in the room even when ac was turned off to keep you awake all night. Just what you want.

Great location close to shops, bars and restaurants.

A very good city centre hotel, with helpful and friendly staff. Close to the station and easy to find by car. Great parking 100 yards away at Trinity car park (trinityleeds.com/car-park) and much cheaper if you have your ticket validated by hotel reception on checking in. The rooms are good, clean, quiet and everything worked. Plenty of choice at breakfast.

Room Tip: Rooms 220 and 222

Staff were very helpful and friendly, good location, though room was a little dusty in some areas, but still pleasant, only problem was if you want an early night! Staying on first floor was like having a night club in your room till midnight, but overall experience was still good and would go again just not on the first floor,.

Room Tip: Not first floor

I stayed here with my partner at the end of November 2014. The location is very central to Leeds. We were attending a concert at the O2 Arena and this was only a ten minuet walk away so was perfect. The hotel reception is very warm and welcoming, and there was a friendly member of staff handing out mince pies and sherry to guests just outside the restaurant/bar area, which was a nice touch. The reception staff were friendly enough but I am sorry to say that the valet staff were not. I understand they were busy but a smile goes a long way and when my partner asked a simple question it was met with a sharp dismissive answer.
The room was spacious and clean on the whole, but there were a few little issues which let it down. There were make up marks on one of the towels that were quite large and easily visible as soon as I entered the bathroom so I don’t know how that was missed by the cleaning staff, the towel seemed to have been washed so I think it was a stain but it was unacceptable either way. I hate to be picky but there was also a baseball size dint in the bedroom wall.
I would say that for the money we paid it was quite reasonable given it’s location, it was just let down by a few unfortunate issues. It would not put me off staying again though

Tucked away down a side street makes for a quiet civilized entrance to a first-rate hotel. Rooms are modernly appointed with all the usual wi-fi and stuff. Great bar in the lobby "The 1871 Lounge" is open late. Perfect mix of high class hotel without being stuffy.

Room Tip: Room 243 had king sized bed and lots of space, plus 12 foot ceilings. Very quiet despite being on t...

This hotel is simply excellent for a stay in Leeds. My mum and I returned here for our annual Xmas shopping trip and were so impressed . It was 3 years since our last visit to Leeds and in that time the new shopping centre Trinity has been built and parts of the hotel have undergone a great makeover. The location is amazing. You literally walk out the front door, cross the road and you're in the heart of the shopping district. But as the hotel is set in a quiet courtyard you don't hear any traffic noise or late night revellers. The hotel bar and dining area has had a makeover and we thoroughly enjoyed a pre-dinner cocktail there before heading out for a meal. The room was large and clean and there was the rare treat of getting separate conditioner in the free toiletries (male readers - this will make no sense whatsoever; but the girls will know what I'm talking about!!!). Leeds similarly impressed with a lovely mix of independent shops (head for the Corn Exchange) and high street shopping. The Victorian arcades are lovely for a spot of window shopping if nothing else, and everywhere we went people were friendly and helpful. All in all, a great hotel and a fabulous weekend - well done Leeds!
