This hotel is dirty and badly managed here's some examples from my room...
The door had been kicked in and the safety lock was broken and door frame split
Rusty towel rails
warped wardrobe doors
stained evacuation details on room door
scratched mirror
stains on bathroom walls, bedrooms walls and roof
dirty carpets
broken toilet roll holder
chipped and dirty bathroom sink unit
locked mini bar
filthy window sills
no guest files in the rooms
photocopied breakfast menus
In the gym the toilets and changing room were filthy and smelt of pee
The gym showers have black mold all over the roof
In the pool the rails to the hot tub are so dirty as is the steam outlet in the steam room

As for service here is a few examples over our 2 day stay...
I have a priority club card and asked if I could have an upgraded room as this is usually offered as standard I was told the hotel was full.
Complained about the room again was told the hotel was full
Checked online rooms available including upgraded rooms!

Some of the cons I noticed going on...
Ordered room service when it arrived I signed the bill but wasn't left a copy I didn't look closely but noticed I had been given a bowl of chips I didn't order most likely I was charged for these.
Went to bar and ordered 4 drinks and charged to the room when I looked a noticed they had overcharged 2 drinks as something more expensive when I asked the barman suddenly lost the grasp of English and said sorry I don't speak English! After 20mins I got the bill changed and it was £5 less.
I then looked at my bill on the TV and noticed a £6 parking charge, I called reception and was advised they charge everyones rooms and it would be removed on check out which is annoying as I usually wouldn't go and checkout at reception in this chain and this is one of their offerings to Priority Club members. On checkout I thought I would wait to see if I was asked about the parking guess what, I wasn't! I mentioned it to them and then they removed it. This was causing problems at reception as people noticed after they had checked out that they had been charged.
Notice a pattern here? the hotel in all depts. are trying to get a bit extra, this seems too common to be coincidence. The hotel uses photocopys instead of authorised Crowne Plaza materials in the rooms it shows this hotel is trying to save or con money at every opportunity.

Over all I would advise avoiding as this place is very poor for price (not worth more than £45) and doesn't meet brand expectations, this is why I have rated it so low. If this was a cheap unbranded hotel then maybe I would have rated it a bit higher.

Booked a family room for one night and paid aound £60 on a weekend deal via their website. The room was fairly standard with 2 double beds.
The deal included breakfast, which was pretty good, and the use of the leisure facilities. The pool was OK but a little on the cold side for our liking. Front of house staff were friendly enough. Parking at weekends is £6 for a 24 hour period which compares favourably with Leeds car park rates. I believe the rate doubles during the week. The hotel is a brisk 10 minute walk to the city's the main shopping area.

We booked this hotel for the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. With the hotel being a 4*, we expected a high standard of quality. The hotel was also expensive. First impressions on arriving outside were that the hotel looked dated and was in need of a facelift. The reception area looked old fashioned and crammed. The rooms were tiny and in desperate need of a good facelift. They needed painting and all the furniture replacing. The bathroom was filthy and hadn't been cleaned, the bath and the toilet were awful and dirty. The bed was broken, with the bedding dirty. We didn't stay long enough to even un pack out bags, we had seen enough, We complained to the hotel management who were understanding and gave a full refund. This was a bad start to what was supossed to be a celebration wknd. We re located to a nearby hotel (Jurys Inn) which was fantastic value for money. I wouldn't recomend this hotel in a million years !

We booked two rooms for a one night stay in Leeds for our daughter’s graduation.

The hotel is well located for the city centre, had parking facilities (£10 per night charge), and the service during our short stay was good.

The reception area, bar and restaurant were of a reasonable standard, and although we only had breakfast in the hotel, the selection for breakfast was good and the food was well cooked (buffet style).

The rooms were reasonably well equipped, although the furniture and decoration would benefit from updating, and as some other reviews have stated, appear a little "tired".

We didn't use the leisure facilities although they appeared to be ok.

Overall we would recommend this hotel for a short stay in Leeds, although perhaps not if you are looking for luxury facilities and rooms.

Having stayed in other Crowne Plaza hotels in the UK I knew what to expect from this 4 star hotel and it was not what I got!

The standard rooms were tired looking and dirty. For example, in the bathroom the towel rail was falling off, the skirting board was swollen, the button on top of the temperature dial in the shower was missing, and there were stains on the curtains, floor and light fitting. One of the telephones did not work.

There also wasn’t the usual literature about the hotel e.g. where the facilities were, times for breakfast and general information about Leeds. Also there was a limited choice of tea/coffee - no Earl Grey, Herbal or hot chocolate.

However the hotel did have some good things going for it such as good food, fast room service, nice lobby and meeting areas.

I have written to the managers with photographic evidence and also suggested they look at this site!
