“A spontaneous lunch with delicious outcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

Visiting family in Roundhay our original plans for the day, which involved a LOT of Lego, were thwarted..however a speedy phone call secured us a table at 1pm.
Great service from the start, welcoming, friendly and brilliant with our almost 7 yr old whirlwind! Lovely to see some slightly different choices available although after much deliberation we all plumped for sandwiches or Panini's. Each different in content, each deliciously more-ish and well presented. For us, it was absolutely a great lunch, with fab company and we certainly look forward returning sometime for a repeat .

“Lunch with the girls and kids!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014 via mobile

An unplanned visit one Saturday lunch time. We were greeted warmly and when asked if they had a table we were showed to a nice table with lovely views of the grounds.
Although slightly pricey it was a nice treat. We had sandwiches and the kids had pasta! The wait was slightly longer then we would of liked especially with a 18mths & 4 year hungry children .
The staff were very helpful and friendly , made that extra effort with the kids making them giggly, which was nice to see.
Would visit again with or with children.

“How very civilised...how very lovely...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

What a delightful place. They also do evening events, which I have to say, I would love to try.. Staff are surprisingly unpretentious too...unlike some of the customers (;

“Lovely and intimate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

Lovely surroundings, great staff and excellent food. Only small eating area, but lovely nevertheless. Not a cheap stop off but if you want that something a little special, this really is a treat.

“Confused about its identity”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2014

We went for lunch on a Saturday to celebrate a special occasion and were disappointed by our experience. We dressed up because the website, location and marketing implied a smart, up-market restaurant experience. However we were sitting among people who'd wandered in from the park in jeans and trainers. We wouldn't have minded but we also wouldn't have gone to such an effort.

The menu was equally confused with a small number of hot lunches, and the majority being sandwiches (or paninis), but with a specials selection that was more 'fancy' meals for lunch. The main menu was comparable to local pubs with burger, steak sandwich, and fish and chips on the hot food main menu.

We think that for a lunch if you're out for a walk in the park it's great, and I think the brunch menu looked good. But not ideal for a gastronomical experience, or for a special treat. They should market themselves appropriately.
