I came here with friends for a quiet lunch after exploring nearby gardens.
This was our first time here and looking at the menu we thought the snack type food may be a little over-priced but the sandwiches we had were excellent. One of us had a roasted winter vegetable sandwich and two of us had fried haddock (a posh fish finger). The fish and accompanying bowl of thick chips was very good indeed.
The coffee was ok rather than great and tasted as if it had come out of a machine as opposed to from a trained barista.
The staff we very pleasant and courteous.
On the day we came I counted 6 young babies and at least 4 over-sized buggies, 2 of which were blocking diners from access to tables which the mothers could see but made no effort to shift. Lots of noise and some breast-feeding.
Other than this it was a lovely place to eat. If you book in advance ask for a table over-looking the park.
