“Good hotel but bar prices!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

First stay here as I usually stay in the Radisson. Very efficient reception and room very clean. Good quality shower. Personally I don't like the Apple TV as it seems to freeze so often. Location good for the train station but a bit of a walk to the City Centre. The bar prices are very high for food and wine even for a hotel - then found some nice restaurants in walking distance that were far better value. Stay here but eat elsewhere.

Stayed here for a night, the location is ok, parking charges are expensive £15 through Hilton Doubletree or £12 for a sister company.
The room uses a imac about 21inches as a television, it is not a adequate size when lying in bed trying to watch TV, nor does it have a tv guide.
Bathroom size was a good and well equipped, room was a good size too, unappealing view of Leeds Train station though.
Breakfast buffet had a large variety.

I was very impressed with the level of service and luxury considering how reasonable the room rates are, it really can't be faulted! The building is very modern, with floor to ceiling windows and fantastic views. It is located in the Granary Wharf development, which is around a canal basin. There is a selection of excellent bars and restaurants within the development, with both the Leeds city centre shops and financial district only a 5 minute walk away.

The hotel is situated behind the Leeds Hilton. Whilst the Hilton is more expensive, the Doubletree is a much better hotel as the Hilton is quite dated (I have stayed in both).

The Skylounge offers fantastic views over the city and is very classy; be prepaired to fork out £15 for a cocktail though! My only grumble with the hotel was that when returning from an evening out at approximately 22:00, we had to queue for a lift for a while to go up to our room due to the number of non-quests wishing to access the Skylounge on the top floor. It would be good if a lift was reserved for "guests only" to avoid this problem on busy nights.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 8th floor or higher offer fantastic views.

A weekend trip to Leeds was set to a great start when we checked in at the Doubletree Hilton.

Upon arrival, the concierge identified that there was no parking available on site, however, advised of a cheap, secure car park within a minutes walk from the hotel

The receptionist asked if we had a room preference and was happy to allocate one near to the top floor before giving us free, warm chocolate chip cookies and advising us of the layout of the hotel.

The room itself was large, tastefully decorated and spacious. A floor to cieling window provided us with a great view of the surrounding area and the usual tea, coffee, safe box and expected amenities were provided. In place of a standard tv was an Apple iMac which allowed you to browse the internet, watch a variety of tv channels and listen to the radio without additional charge. The bed was comfortable and, despite the top floor bar being packed with customers, there was no ambient noise or disruption to a good night's sleep.

Although we didn't custom the Sky bar, we did visit to enjoy the stunning views that the rooftop balcony provided. The bar was again well decorated and very clean considering we were looking around early on a Sunday morning. The dining area was also very welcoming.

We enjoyed breakfast in the ground floor dining area surrounded by large windows giving great views of the docked boats nearby. Breakfast itself was wholesome, generous and to my delight, the vegetarian options included sausages and not-quite black pudding, which were consistently delicious throughout our stay.

Leeds' Doubletree by Hilton is without a doubt one of the best hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in and I would well recommend it for anyone considering a stay in the city. The surrounding area is teaming with modern developments and a wide variety of places to eat and drink and the hotel provides a place to relax without being too far from the enjoyable day and nightlife that Leeds brings.

Great hotel friendly staff, good location, fantastic ( but expensive) bar on 13th floor. Parking limited and expensive bathrooms only have showers so don't book if you like a bath but overall spot on will stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for side away from station if you sleep with window open.

This place is modern and well and fit for the young person on the go for pleasure or business.
The rooms are well laid out, spacious and comfortable.
The icing on the cake is the Sky bar, a place where after dark you can see virtually the whole of Leeds in a relaxing, very modern bar serving a wide choice of beers and cocktails, a little pricey but what do you expect from an extravagant place like this.
Beware the Sky bar does get busy in the evenings no matter what day you choose but relax and enjoy the experience it is one for living.

great business hotel, all MAC, free wifi, breakfast perfect. A nice area to if you want to venture out. However, the roof top bar is pretty good. Blink and you will see Canary wharf of 15 years ago! Perfect for work, on the way a great sandwich bar. You cant fault it!

Room Tip: dont hesitate book it!
