“Wonderful Weekend.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2009

I booked this Guesthouse from the website for our Wedding Anniversary and from looking at the rooms, booked "The Honey Pot" Room - A Must - lovely.! Fab., 4-poster bed, bathroom with double whirlpool bath, with music and lights.! Romantic.!! Champagne on Ice. ! (extra cost of course) A B&B but wonderful, very friendly people, greeted at the front door, and breakfast lovely. Only a short walk into the village, for places to eat, recommendations from Ray, which were very helpful. A wonderful weekend in a lovely area. WELL WORTH A VISIT. REALLY RECOMMEND. Hope to visit again in 2009.

My husband and I stayed at the Ashmount in December 2008. We went there with our family who took over nearly the whole Guest House. The Guest House was lovely. It was really nice to sit in the lounge with the fire burning. The lounge also has a mini bar. We stayed in the Surgery which was furnished nicely with a modern bathroom. Breakfast was great with a good choice of food. The Guest House is in a great location to visit the main attractions in Haworth and is close to several pubs and restaurants. We relay enjoyed the weekend and will definitely be going back some time soon.

From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be a special weekend!

A sumptous period room with large marshallow duvet, fluffy cushions, enormous fireplace and black chandelier made for a very romantic atmosphere.

This was topped off with a tray of chocolates and fresh strawberries. The ensuite bathroom was modern and spotless and best of all was the private terrace with a large hot tub.

We had a meal at a local restaurant and arrived back to our room to a bottle of pink champagne which was downed whilst looking at the stars in the gorgeous hot tub!

Breakfast was lovely with a large choice from full English or Continental to waffles.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the drawing room with roaring fire and honesty bar were most welcome.

We can't wait to go back and have just booked a different room for my parents as a treat.

It was my boyfriends birthday so i decided to treat him to the Secret Garden Suite and it was amazing.
The photos just don't do the hotel justice. When we arrived it was lovely to have such a warm and personal welcome. Ray and Gill were brilliant, nothing was to much trouble.
After a very long drive it was great to be told we could order some food and just relax in the hot tub. I had pre ordered chocolates and strawberries and on the quiet my boyfriend had ordered a gorgeous boquet of flowers through Ray and Gill.
I wouldn't hesistate to recommend this to anyone that wanted a sophisticated, relaxing break.
We will definatly be returning. Thanks for a great experience.

28th October 2008.
Where shall i start.... me, my wife and our 5 year old son with our friends with their 6 year old daughter had a lovely time in Haworth, especially after being out and about all day then coming back to the welcoming feeling of the Ashmount Guest House. We stayed in "Dr Amos Inghams" room and the decor was extremely chic, with the lovely four poster bed and the views from the bedroom window out over the village are fantastic. The guest house has been tastefully furnished to a very good standard, keeping some of the old features of the house intact, which is nice to see these days !
Ray and his staff were all very welcoming and very polite, always attentive to our needs and there was no animosity towards us because we had two young children in our group.
Breakfast time was pure indulgance, locally sourced food for the full english breakfast, cooked to perfection. Fantastic !
Ashmount Guest House must be one of only a few excellent guest houses in Haworth, not to stay here would be a great experiance missed.
Ray and his staff keep up the good work, you have a fantastic guest house.
Many thanks,
Eddie, Nicky and Bradley from Norfolk, England.

P.S. For all those people who gave negative reviews about Ashmount Guest Houses policies, you'll have to stay in a guest house next time where you can take liberty and smoke, pinch the hangers, towels, soaps etc. etc.... Have a nice day !!!

Having confirmed specific details regarding our planned stay; i.e. we had to have the Sanctuary Spa Room, Wi-fi Internet etc. it was really disappointing to arrive and find that the door was locked tight. Ray the manager or janitor welcomed us in with a half warm reception; quickly running through the many rules of the establishment. His main focus was ensuring we signed a certificate to confirm we would pay £100 if found to be smoking!
At the top of the stairs he introduced us to a "Shared Fridge Facility" and happily informed us we could join together with other residents and "Share Milk" together. Ray its 2008! Stick a fridge in all your rooms. The place whilst beautiful is cluttered with an array of signage of what we are NOT allowed to do. Once we got to the room Ray attempted to fob us off with the Honey Pot room, a nice room but not what I had booked. He said that was only room available he would check his diary for next day. He went off and I tried phoning him but 20 mins later he still could not tell me. So we grabbed our bags and vacated the property. Not a nice experience - Ray perhaps wants to run a more formal establishment like a Private Boarding School.

  • Liked — Leaving.
  • Disliked — Ray. He scared my wife. She felt like naughty child.

We stayed in a really nice room, extra large bed with dual aspect windows. The sound insulation between rooms was excellent.
The breakfasts were excellent - much better than a certain Hotel I recently stayed at in Marlow on my 50th birthday. The hills in the village and surrounding areas will keep you fit and work off your loveley breakfast.

Ashmount manages to sympathetically combine modern day amenities (such as wi-fi, hot tub) with many of the original features that the Bronte Sisters would have much admired. Most of the furniture is antique and much of the interior of the house, including the beautiful stained glass windows, is original. It is this care & attention to detail - both modern and traditional - that leads us to believe Ashmount to be the most comfortable accommodation with the finest restaurant in Haworth. ... more   less
