After hearing some positive reviews about the food at Don't Tell Titus, I decided to book a table there for myself and 12 friends for my Birthday. In hindsight, I should have chosen somewhere else. I’m not usually in the habit of reviewing venues, however I feel that this needs to be said as we certainly didn’t get what we paid for!
We had been seated for at least twenty minutes when before we asked if we could order drinks. The waitress was very willing but had to be asked on every occasion if we could order, rather than the other way round. She also missed half the table in some of the drinks orders and we had to point out that she needed to take an order from everyone. That in itself is something and nothing, but unfortunately the whole experience was pretty poor.
I ordered the tuna steak as a main course, which was quite nice although it’s a good job I don’t eat very much as I would have been hungry! A friend of mine ordered a curry which was probably at least half the size that I would have expected it to be in a restaurant. Again, although annoying, we all had a good night so at the time these points were only slightly irritating.
The following day I was informed that 2 of the guests had been up most of the night with stomach upsets which surely cannot be a coincidence.
All in all we paid restaurant prices for shoddy service, mediocre food and a couple of tummy bugs! Needless to say I will not be eating here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
