“Lovely weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Hollins hall to celebrate my husbands birthday ( he didn't get a card or choccies though!). Hotel was fully booked so had to have a standard double, but was the usual high standard we have come to expect at Marriott hotels. My only gripe on the room was that the mattress topper had seen better days so not as comfy as expected. I don't know if this is a problem with the double size as had the same problem at Birmingham when staying in a double room, but did not happen when we have stayed in kingsize rooms.
Staff were all very friendly, especially Darryl in the Zest bar where we had a really good value 'special meal deal' on Saturday evening.
Noticed on another review that the hotel was cold, but not in our experience if anything the room was too hot in fact we opened the windows to cool down! Also there was criticism of the cleanliness of the leisure facilities, these were spotless and again staff very friendly.
All in all a lovely hotel and made better by the fact that you can use clubcard vouchers for your room cost , fantastic value.

Had a weekend stay to the hotel in March. Despite using our marriott points, we were upgraded on arrival and were given a pleasant, clean and decent sized room. Staff were lovely throughout the weekend, customer service was excellent. The staff even remembered our name and room number on our second morning for breakfast. We used the swimming pool and steam room, which contrary to an earlier review were very pleasant and clean. We ate in the Zest restaurant one evening. Food was good quality and well cooked, although we were unlucky as we had ordered at the same time as a group of conference guests, so had to wait for our meal. Even though we didn't complain, we were given a discount on our bill. Would happily visit again.

A young lady called Bethany did me a fantastic treatment one afternoon in march. She was very polite and helpful and catered to my needs. I had a full body massage and I would highly recommend.
Thank you I will be calling again soon!

We took our company to Hollins Hall. All 150 of us. I can truly say they looked after us 110%. Food at lunch and through out the day was tasty, hot ( when it needed to be) and plentiful. If you are considering a conference look this one up. Audio and attention to detail was unbelievable.

We recently stayed at the Hollins Hall Hotel for a weekend break, didn't know what to really expect. The hotel is on the outskirts of Bradford, About a 15 minute drive, it's set in its own grounds which are lovely and has lovely views. The rooms were ok, little tired as we're a lot of the common areas f the hotel. We didn't have any meals in the hotel other than breakfast and this was very good. The bar area was always busy with golfers but this gave it a nice feel. The pool area and spa was very good, and the gym was well equipped. The hotel is a short walk away to the village where Emmerdale used to be filmed, and we had a nice drink and meal. We also ate at the Old Glen on the edge of Baildon Moor this restaurant is well worth a visit, excellent food, and good customer service. If I was in the Bradford again I would stay at this hotel again.

An overnight stay with my Husband and his parents, we opted for dinner, bed and breakfast. We've stayed in many Marriotts over the years and don't think this country club is up to the standard we'd expect for the brand.

No matter where we were in the hotel, it was COLD! Snowing/rain outside and none of the big log fires were on to heat the place. Heaters up full in room but clearly the main thermostat had been put down low as they were only just warm, as was hot water.

Staff were lovely and friendly, even contacted us the night before which was a nice touch. Rooms were small but had everything we needed and were comfortable. Bathroom not great, shower head and tile grout needed a clean. Found hairs in the bath and one on a hand towel. Door handle in bathroom had been replaced and marks on door where prev one had been which hadn't been tidied up.

Decor throughout was dated, paintwork peeling, some parts needed a good dust.

We really enjoyed lunch and drinks chilling in zest bar, really nice atmosphere and food. Best part of hotel by far.

Went to pool, nice decor in changing rooms but they were disgusting. Hair, ooze, bobbles and things lying on wet floor. No little bags to put wet costume or blue shoe protectors. Steam room smelt of urine. Tiles around pool slippy, no staff to be seen anywhere which i found unusual. Lacked cleanliness smell of disinfectant. Walk from shower to get clothed and my feet had hair and bits stuck to them from the dirty floor. Yuck.

Restaurant should have been amazing but lacked a special touch. Table we sat at was dark, we could hardly read the menu. (another table next to us used a torch light from mobile phone to brighten their table up). I asked for a candle (only some tables had one) and waitress was very helpful and returned with an artificial wax battery operated one (which had a layer of dust on top) was still dark. Starter and main course nice. Ordered ice cream and sorbet, (had this at worsley park last time and was delicious). Disappointed, got 3 ginger nut biscuits from a packet with a dollop of ice cream on each, no sorbet. Not what you'd expect from a fine dining restaurant!! Breakfast was really nice with a great selection and service.

Overall I expected more. The building, location, spa, golf has it all but sadly it's really lacking attention to detail and small things that matter. Definitely will be sticking with worsley park in future.

Nice hotel with great facilities and really lovely staff. Had a great relaxing weekend. Pleasantly surprised. Nice decent sized & very clean rooms. Nice comfy bed. No free wifi though. Good restaurant with lovely food & well priced wines. Terri the waitress is a really lovely, friendly & super efficient waitress who made our stay fab, thank you Terri! The lady who checked us in was also great very helpful & really great when I requested another room than that offered - I don't like interconnecting rooms (sorry didn't get her name) stayed from Fri 8/3-10/3 2013. Driving range very busy and no balls when we arrived but was raining anyhow so no big thing, we used the leisure facilities instead, which were pretty good. The staff definitely made this stay as nice as it was, we will return.
