5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2010

We stayed 1 night at the Great Victoria Hotel and were very impressed. The room was of reasonable size, clean and well appointed. When we arrived there was only 1 set of towels, and the window would not open, I let the reception desk know, and on returning half an hour later there were lots of towels and the window was open! All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in a huge wood panelled room and was delicious. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed here for 3 nights on Business in two different rooms. They have tried to modernise the rooms but without sufficient budget so it all looks a bit slapdash.
One of the rooms had the sash window wedged open with a piece of wood. Not exactly good for security (and this was one of the luxury rooms). You do not get sky television despite what the website says and to be honest its not really great value for money.

Restaurant was good and no problem with the breakfast but if you are going to update the rooms then do it properly!

This is a centrally located hotel across the road form the Bradford Interchange Station. Walking distance to The Alhambra Theatre, Imax and Cineworld.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and well decorated.

Booked a standard room for weekend away. Check in was easy and there is a large reception/lounge area. All public areas are kept clean and modern but still hold the classic side of the building. Rooms are not huge but are nice and clean with a double bed. TV did not have good reception so not realy worth watching. Otherwise were comfy with everything you need. Bathroom was large and clean though not as modern as the rooms etc. breakfast was in a smallish room and continental breakfast with some cooked breakfast, all self service. Staff were friendly. Would recomend to stay here though dont trust all the pics from the hotel websites as the rooms do look a lot bigger!.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2010

This hotel could not be nearer to Bradford Interchange station unless it rotated through 180 degrees so its entrance faced the station exit. Reception staff (she seemed on permanent duty) was charming. the room was well-appointed, comfortable rather than luxurious.
We decided to eat in on the first night in the bar. Unfortunately starters and mains were delivered together and so I asked that the mains be taken back. My moules were lukewarm as was the main when it returned and so I asked for it to be replaced which was done without drama or apparent resentment.
Upon my return to my room a not inconsiderable water leak from above was apparent. I called reception and was immediately moved to the 4th floor by a charming and constantly apologetic young man.
Breakfast on both days was excellent and the staff suitably attentive.
The hotel seems to combine ancient grandeur with modernity but some slight shabbiness is apparent in certain areas. The staff were all pleasant and helpful and I could have no serious complaints about either of the rooms I used. I would certainly consider staying again if I were in the area.

My Brother and his new wife had their wedding at the hotel on the 21st November 2009 and I cannot say one bad thing about their day, the hotel was clean and our room was huge. We stayed a deluxe room with a free standing bath in the room which my little boy absolutely loved.

I am quite fussy with hotels and for what we paid it was excellent value for Money. The staff were courteous and helpful on check in and the wedding went without a hitch.

The only complaint I do have is Breakfast. We were quite late coming down to breakfast and they had run out of a lot of the breakfast - bacon etc. it took a long time to replenish the breakfast and other items were cold by the time the fresh stuff had arrived. They did apologise and knocked off the price of our breakfast, so it was fine.
