“Distimclty Average experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

We went as a party of 6 with an Australian friend to show her what an old Bradford curry restaurant was lie. We found the whole experience average
The food was average

The menu selection average (a tad dated)

The service just about average

The ambiance average

The price average.

It would improve with a deep clean (The carpet has seen better days) and glasses and plates which weren’t chipped and a waiter who could remember to bring us cutelry.

On the plus side the mixed starter was very nice and the fish masala lovely.
The papadoms were crisp with a nice taste. The Chicken Madras was hot and tasty.
The Chicken Korma was made with condensed milk and tasted a little odd to a Western palate
All in all a three star experience- there are a lot better Curry restaurants on Bradford - I am surprised it comes so high in the Trip Advisor “Top restaurants ” in Bradford list.

“Nice breakfast”

Breakfast desi style is nice but a bit oily. Needs to be changed. But otherwise recommended. Tea is nice.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012 via mobile

If you want authentic and traditional Asian cuisine then this is the place. An excellent tasty curry with a good selection to choose from. The service is second to non and nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff. We are regular visitors and enjoy it every time.
Brilliant!

“Sweet Centre Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

This is an attractive, bright restaurant with an adjoining cafe bar.
As a place that we have frequented as a family for over twenty years it has never failed to deliver great authentic food at a value for money price.
The Sweet Centre has a truly vibrant & cosmopolitan atmosphere as many Asian and white families mingle happily. A nice change in these troubled times to see such tolerance as the respective cultures sit side by side. The Sweet Centre does not have a drinks license but you are welcome to take your own alcoholic drinks which is a real bonus for us.
As stated, this is a family run business that has been around for over 40 years & it has now taken an extra leap with the introduction of delicious & healthy starters which are grilled over charcoal.
And so to the food, we had Masala fish, the Charcoal mixed Grill & chicken Pakora.
The fish was tender & not overdone as can happen with this dish, The Pakora was fresh & the batter crisp, just as they should be no microwaving here, the mixed grill was superb with lamb chops spicy chicken wings, chicken boti & meat & chicken kebabs what a feast.
The main courses were mixed veg balti & chicken bhuna the balti had a great mix of fresh veg superbly spiced, the bhuna was delicious the chicken had been marinated & consisted of large pieces of succulent meat.
All in all a great meal, great atmosphere & friendly service the staff are always friendly and attentive which comes right down from the top as you will always notice the owner Waqar taking time out to speak to various customers old & new.

“Very average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

I am confused by the good reviews for this place. Maybe we got unlucky but I felt that the food was nothing to write home about. The mixed starter (pakora, samosa, sheesh kebab and chicken tikka) was ok but a little lacking in taste. Out of the main courses we ordered, the Balti Gosht was nice, the Veg Balti also good. The chicken biryani was really terrible, nothing like a biryani at all, just rice cooked with chicken and turmeric. The naan bread was well cooked, light and fluffy. The bill at least was very cheap. Overall though there are far better places to eat Indian food in Bradford so I doubt I'll be back.
