After searching the internet for hotels in the area with a reputation for good food, I booked five days (later extended to seven days) at the Millstream. What a good choice! I felt the hotel was one the best I have ever stayed at, due to the high levels of service, quality of food etc. I had to change rooms after two days, but initially (during the worst of the heatwave) my room had air-conditioning - bliss. Changing rooms was simple "Just put everything on the bed and we will move it for you." The second room, although without a/c had a fan (as had all the other rooms where the management had purchased these due to the hot weather). It is true that the hotel is geared up to the older traveller. For example, no mini-bars but instead a fridge containg complimentary bottles of mineral water (stiil and carbonated), plus a pint of fresh semi-skimmed milk ! ! The service throughout the hotel was excellent. The restaurant was exteremely good with first-class service and excellent food, much prepared on site. Overall one the best hotels I have ever stayed at and would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet break and good living.

I booked the Millstream at the last minute of recommendation of a close friend (who since told me his folks love it!) for romantic weekend with hubby, away from kids. Very english and very chintzy. Our room was nice, but only nice, bit dated and bit shabby roudn the edges. The food at dinner was good, and very reasonably priced. Service at breakfast was slow, we got there at 9, and at 9.30 on the dot the waiters started clearing the tables around us for a function later in the day. Not very relaxing. Average age at dinner was 60.

We sat out in the garden for early evening drink and were quizzed by a waiter if we were guests or not, then she walked off without asking if we wanted anything. Another waiter did exactly the same to the people at the table next to us.

I'd summarise it as a nice hotel that has had a good reputation, but has let itself go a bit, and is able to rely on previous guests.

My husband took me to Bosham for our wedding anniversary and we stayed at the Millstream Hotel. It was a delightful, pretty hotel with excellent service. There is a pretty garden with a small stream running through and ornate bridges which cross the stream. The food was out of this world and well worth the slightly more expensive price than we would usually pay. The service in the restaurant was very good which was mirrored by the reception staff. Towards the end of our meal and during coffee which was taken in the lounge we enjoyed listening to the pianist playing beautiful relaxing music.

The bedroom was light and airy and extremely clean and everything was catered for including the fresh pint of milk in the fridge. The bathroom was modern and a very good size and not a stain or bit of mould in sight! There was plenty of parking in the car park.

Throughly recommended.

Attended a friends leaving do here last week, and it was excellent. The welcome from staff was warm, constantly topping up the drinks and they knew what the canapes were. The meal itself was wonderful, we could not have asked for more.

The Hotel is ok and in a nice setting. The Service is not up to scratch at all. Eating in the restaurant is very expensive. Generally an underwhelming experience.
