We just had our wedding at the Norfolk arms on the 11th August and I can only say good things. Nicky from the hotel was amazing setting up the wedding and had no problems with our last minute changes.
The staff on the day were great and helpful, even at midnight there were still plenty of staff around to ensure everything was running to plan (some of which were there serving us breakfast the next day, that’s commitment!)
The Hotel itself is a grand old building with lots of character so don’t go in expecting a beige copy of Marriot or Travelodge, its unique and that’s what attracted us.
The staff are all very friendly and keen to help and compared to some of the venues we looked at for hosting our wedding the Norfolk arms was amenable to any ideas and didn’t charge the earth for the venue.
The hotel did all the catering for the wedding and the food was excellent both for the wedding and for the breakfast the morning after. Hats off to the chef who handled it very well and lovely ingredients
The bedrooms themselves are a bit old fashioned, we stayed in the main house which I think even the hotel would say are the better rooms, but the building is full of character and in this day of boutique hotels and pastel colours it makes a nice change. I think if they did do a renovation of the bedrooms (carpet, paint and bathrooms) it could be up there with the best hotels in Sussex.
We had the wedding suite which was a massive room with a bathroom bigger than most hotel bedrooms, the space was great for the bride and bridesmaids getting ready
As for location, what can I say, you couldn’t get more central in Arundel if your tried, with free carparking for guests it an ideal base
If your looking for a wedding venue in West Sussex just go and have a look at the Fitzalan room at the Norfolk arms, I don’t know why the Norfolk Arms don’t make more of it on their website, they really should!
Overall 5 stars because the building is magnificent, the staff are great and I really feel as if they cared about our big day
Try and get a room in the main house, preferably the top floors

Married for one week already! Thank you for your lovely review, I must say, although I can be a bit biased, that you really made the room look stunning, your colours worked really well, and all the hard work you put into the beaded names on the glasses was incredible ....
I am so pleased that you found Nicky and the team so helpful, we always enjoy working during a wedding, and yours was thorougly enjoyable. The hotel is lovely, albeit in need of a little refurbishment - which I am sure will come in due course, and as you say, there is only one Norfolk Arms Hotel, so it is fair to use the word unique!
I do hope that we will see you for your first anniversary - have a wonderful honeymoon next month and our best wishes
