Not usually ones to succumb to valentine's day, we were tempted to The Swan by the excellent special menu. All the tables were beautifully laid out with the lights down low, and the atmosphere is always convivial. We started with fabulous scallops with a coconut and coriander Dahl. Delicious! For our mains we had beautifully succulent guinea fowl, our favourite. It was served with baby fennel, shiitake mushrooms, green beans and truffle oil. For dessert we went for the white chocolate cheesecake and the poached pear. All washed down by a bottle of the excellent Collette house champagne, all included in the £35 per head. excellent value. Beautiful food and first class service as usual. Although we are 'regulars', we have only just discovered the wonderful fresh fish goujons in a sesame batter and the juicy king prawn on the 'nibbles' section of the menu, perfect as a starter before diving into all the delights the main menu has to offer!! This really is first class food and service in a setting fits every occasion whether a midweek supper, Sunday lunch or a romantic dinner. We love it!!
