“value for money!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2009

Me and 2 friends stayed at Aston court for my birthday in february, upon pulling up to the hotel it does not fill you with overwhelming confidence with the 70s style exterior but as you enter reception that dramatically changes, for a 3star hotel it is more than adequate.
My only gripe was with the distasteful barmaid who quite blatantly couldn't wait to get rid of us after 2 pre evening drinks.
The rooms are spacious and very clean the breakfast is nothing special but for £40 each you don't expect gourmet food.
i would most certainly stay again although not to visit the absolute dump that is Coventry.

Had an evening out and wanted room service as we hadn't eaten, it couldnt be done as there was a function on ! The kettle didnt work so no tea, the cold water tap gave out warm water so no glass of cold water. AS THEY SAY, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, NOTHING MORE AND NOTHING LESS.

I went to stay this hotel earlier this month with my partner for two nights weekend break as we attended to my old school friend 40th surprise party, So when we first arrived we were drove in the night time and had hard time to find this hotel. At the end we finally found this hotel outside its nold fashion rather bleak but when we got in the hotel it look nice and fresh, our room are nice but when we arrived to our room the window was open ! its decemeber its freezing cold so i closed the window and chekc everything in the room the bed are fine but its had old fashion sheet and blankets that all, in our room inside the wardrobe there is a ironing broad and ironing which is great help to got our clothes ironing.
Went to dining room/ resturant for our breakfast when we arrived there and nobody in the resturant its totally empty and we walked around for about 5 mins wonder is it close or what then the waitress finally turned up and the breakfast was lovely and fill our tummy up.
When we left our room to went to the town and leave the room to the cleaner to have it clean and by the time when we got back to our room guess what the cleaner left the window wide open again so i shut the window again.
The reception booked a taxi for us and the porter greet us when we got back from the party at midnight that was very good of them.
i feel this hotel is a lovely but not that WOW factor and its rather very quite as not much people stay in this hotel.
Shower/bathroom lovely, room are fine but need invest duvet.

  • Liked — loaction and price
  • Disliked — old fashion sheet and blanket

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2008

I stayed here in 2007 and it was a shambles so i wasnt to happy when i heard that work booked me in here again, as a result i was prepared for the worst.

I couldnt believe how much the hotel has changed!! Its still an eyesore from the outside but everything inside is new and modern, the staff were fantastic who couldnt have helped me more and in particular a young lad (think his name was Ashley).

He was on reception when i arrived and was really polite and
helpful, i found out that there was free wi fi in the lounge which i didnt know about, surely this should be advertised everywhere??? He also told me about some nice bars and restaurants within a 10 minute walk and that i could change the sky tv in the lounge to watch what i wanted!!!!

The breakfast was 10 times better than before and the service was great, i just wished i had stayed in the night before and tried the dinner. The room was the only good part to my stay last time and again the room i got was big and clean.

I said i would never stay here again but after this stay whenever im working in Coventry i will get my work to book me into the Aston Court as it was one of the best hotels ive stayed in for ages, and great value for money. I cant believe how different my stay was this time around, well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Liked — The staff and how close it is to the city centre and A45
  • Disliked — The road next to the hotel could annoy some people
