“Very good value, comfortable rooms, good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

We had just an overnight stay here which was very comfortable and good value, particularly as we booked in advance and got a discount.
Our room was at the back, quiet and very clean, very comfortable beds, good bathroom (but shower was over the bath), plenty of coffee and tea provision in the room, good wardrobe and drawer space for clothes, and even an ironing board and iron!
Full EnglishBuffet breakfast plus cereals, fresh fruit, juices, etc was very good and plentiful - well worth the £10-odd charge.
We had dinner the previous evening which was good, particularly the steak. However the steamed vegetables were not as hot as they should have been - a pity because they were fresh and good quality. Desserts were disappointing as they were small portions and rather dry.
Staff were very helpful and welcoming. It is a great location for visiting Coventry and Warwick University.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back were probably quieter as the hotel is near to a busy road

We only stayed for one night as part of a coach trip. The coach had broken down so we were late arriving. The staff were lovely, they held our meal back until we had time to freshen up and what a lovely meal it was! A good choice of starter, main and dessert served by cheerful, helpful staff. After the day we had had it was nice to be made so welcome, unlike some hotels that make coach parties feel like they are an inconvenience especially if they are late.
The room we had was lovely, spotless, nicely decorated and very quiet. Everything you could need was included, comfy bad, iron and board, hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities. Extra pillows were there if needed and I am sure there would be blankets in the winter but it was about 90 in the shade when we were there! The bathroom was a good size and had bath and shower.
The room also had very good lighting, so many hotels we have been to lately are dark and gloomy as they try to save power, it was so nice to be able to see properly!
The lounge/bar was a good size room with lots of comfy settees and chairs, there was also seating outside at the front of hotel or in a little court yard.
I couldn't fault this hotel if I tried and wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you to all the staff.

Room Tip: Our room was at the back and very quiet, there is a main road at the front so the rooms may be a lit...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

I have just returned today from a lovely 4 night stay at this hotel with a coach party. As a lone traveler I was made to feel very welcome by all the staff and I found the whole experience to be very pleasant.

My room looked like it had been newly refurbished, the en-suite was immaculate and the room itself was inviting with lovely views from the front of the hotel to the countryside. The room had a comfortable bed, flatscreen tv with freeview with lots of channels, tea and coffee facilities and plenty of storage for your luggage. The only downside with my room was in front of the hotel there is a busy dual carriageway which wouldn't have mattered if the weather was typically British but with it being so warm I had to have the window open so the traffic noise could be loud at times, it did however die down a lot at nighttime as the road got quieter, when the window was closed the road was barely audible.

The meals we had at the hotel were lovely, with us being there in the heatwave we are currently enjoying the chef asked us if we would like to have a salad option alongside our main evening meals which was very thoughtful. The food overall was of a good standard with plenty of variety and the waiting staff were very efficient and helpful.

The public areas were nice and clean with ample seating for everyone, the bar staff were lovely. The only let down was the evening entertainment was a bit lackluster compared to some other hotels I had stayed in but to be honest with the lovely weather most of us just sat outside to chat and enjoy the sunshine in the evenings so it didn't really affect the holiday.

Overall I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a conveniently located hotel to stay in at a bargain price.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front of the hotel can be noisy due to the road but the views are stunning.

Stayed here on a family occasion, and so we arrived close to midnight but the staff were still accommodating and friendly. We'd heard mixed reviews about the hotel itself but we found the rooms (all double) to be perfectly clean, spacious and well-equipped. Quiet too, bearing in mind it's near a main road. You can't expect luxury at the price you pay, but it's perfectly decent and the staff know what they're doing! It has a good-size car park too, which is obviously handy!

We stayed at this hotel when we saw Bruce Springsteen at the Ricoh arena.
The service was excellent. When we arrived back after midnight we were able to order drinks and sandwiches. The room was very spacious and an excellent en-suite. Excellent value for money.

I stayed with a colleague for 4 nights and it was a bit disappointing. the reception staff were friendly and mannerly. the room was spot on and comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and the morning staff (husband and wife) were top class. We ate in the restaurant the first night and I thought the menu was limited. We mentioned it the reception and the following night we had a curry which was nice. The two young male members of staff were a bit uninterested in their job. the bar is more a lounge and the choice was poor. We ate elsewhere the next two night. Its a hotel that needs to look at what it offers.

Reception were a little bit stand offish and did not seem bothered but it was a cheap stopover so could live with it. Room was pretty large but bed uncomfortable, breakfast overpriced. looks a little bit tired and lack of lift a downside.

Room Tip: better on the back no road noise here

Good Afternoon

Thank you for your posting on this valuable site.

The Hotel is undergoing a massive refurbishment at present, the exterior has been fully re-rendered and will be decorated once the render is thoroughly dry. All bedrooms at the front of the hotel have been refurbished, the corridors redecorated, carpeting takes place in 3 weeks' time, Manor Suite is undergoing a complete refit as is the Manor foyer. The 'tired' look will, by mid-June, be a thing of the past.

We look forward to you revisiting us when you can enjoy the upgrade.

Kind regards
