“A good pub venue but can do better!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013 via mobile

The devil is in the details... We went there based on a few recommendations from friends. It was a sunny day and we decided to eat outside. Whilst the venue was big, offering ample seating inside and outside in a court or on the lawn, the essential element (food) was not quite as expected. The menu was not very important compared to other gastropubs and the prices were quite high for the main courses with meats and fish. We chose daily specials: chicken burger and pulled pork sandwich. The burger was satisfying and the meat good, but the pulled pork wa a disappointment. The baguette contained hardly any meat or sauce and the portions were small. The whitebait we started with was delicious though. The drinks were quite expensive as well.

The service was very amicable and the tables outside were not on top of each other, but they were not very clean. Another disappointment was the lack of soap in the men's bathrooms.

There is a big carpark and the pub is on the main road in meriden. It gets a bit buy with traffic but it is only a background noise.

In summary this place has great potential but it was not there yet...

Really good away from it place near nec. Great food if a tad expensive but worth it. Rooms are big and in courtyard. Loads of paking. Free wifi and continental breakfast. Only issue could not find remote for tv. Very clean also

“Special - food and service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

Visited the Bulls Head with a friend recently. Excellent night out, and really couldn't fault anything!

Only complaint being that the food was SO good, I vastly over ate, and probably won't need to eat for a week. From the minute we got there, the service was great - our waitress Cheryl was cheerful, helpful and just generally great! I had the pate and the fishcakes, and then bravely decided to try the fruit crumble! Beware the crumble, it will beat you...... one of the best I have had in years....! My friend had the deep fried brie followed by the gammon steak. A glass of wine each and all of this for £60!

Lovely atmosphere, great staff and fantastic food! Well worth the visit; I will definitely be returning. You need to book, but this is easy online via their website. Thank you Cheryl for making it a great night!

“Decent spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

Better than most pub food here, nice interior, seating outside too. Only gave this 4 rather than 5 due to service being a bit slow as it was busy and they seemed understaffed. Definitely worth a drop in if you are in the area.

“Lovely pub for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

A good lunchtime menu, a choice of cask ales (plus reasonably priced wine by the bottle), a nice recently refurbished interior and plenty of seating outside on a warm sunny day. Located in a pleasant part of town opposite a duck pond. Nothing to dislike at all.
