The devil is in the details... We went there based on a few recommendations from friends. It was a sunny day and we decided to eat outside. Whilst the venue was big, offering ample seating inside and outside in a court or on the lawn, the essential element (food) was not quite as expected. The menu was not very important compared to other gastropubs and the prices were quite high for the main courses with meats and fish. We chose daily specials: chicken burger and pulled pork sandwich. The burger was satisfying and the meat good, but the pulled pork wa a disappointment. The baguette contained hardly any meat or sauce and the portions were small. The whitebait we started with was delicious though. The drinks were quite expensive as well.
The service was very amicable and the tables outside were not on top of each other, but they were not very clean. Another disappointment was the lack of soap in the men's bathrooms.
There is a big carpark and the pub is on the main road in meriden. It gets a bit buy with traffic but it is only a background noise.
In summary this place has great potential but it was not there yet...
