“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent interior, excellent beer, very reasonably price! Would recommend this to everyone we went twice during our stay and it was fantastic - wish it was down the road from us!

“Charming pub, well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

An unexpected pit-stop on our drive back to the Midlands from London (had to check out the center of England!). Beautiful pub with a great garden, interior was charming and cozy, with some great nooks and crannies to sit and enjoy a drink or two. Didn't dine in the restaurant but it was busy and the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked fabulous.

“Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012 via mobile

Me & my partner came here for an afternoon meal a couple of weeks ago on a nice warm day. Both meals were of good quality & they had a good selection of wines. The meals came at a reasonable speed& the service was friendly. Another plus side is that they'll also let you take you dog in the bar area if it's cold outside

“Initially Appealing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012 via mobile

This is an amazing pub and always has been with a brass plaque on the floor to confirm that it is in the Centre of England. The decor is great and the menu looks good but is pricy. I have eaten there twice recently and on both occasions the food has been tepid in temperature and I am sure my Scampi was only part cooked on the last occasion. I had a guest with me and did not want to make a fuss. The chips were cold in the centre. It doesn't inspire me to go back except for a drink.

“Perfect Lunch Time Ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

We just had a perfect lunch, sat outside in the courtyard eating the beautifully prepared beer battered cod and chunky chips, followed by a delicious apple tart. The service was professional and friendly, the atmosphere relaxed and the overall presentation was very clean and traditional.
