The Castle's website showed a good atmosphere and menu but we ignored the warning signs that this was also a great venue for parties etc. The music was deafening wherever we moved to and cut out any sort of conversation. The staff seemed friendly enough but not the most attentive I.e. when we ordered drinks we were given doubles instead of singles and only found out when we got the bill! The food was the worst though - we were given the wrong meals and, despite telling the waitress she was wrong, she still argued that she wasn't. The steaks were the toughest we could remember eating but still weren't as hard as the steel pellets disguised as peas. The review is poor but it could be down to us mistaking it as a place for a family meal.
We definitely won't be returning unless as a brief stop on a pub crawl.
