“Fantastic hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014

Stayed over and went to the medieval night entertainment.

The whole hotel is stunning as you approach it, really jaw-dropping.

Check in was quick and the staff were very polite.

All the interiors are in keeping with the whole theme of the hotel and make for great ambience throughout.

Our room had a huge bed with a canopy, a separate seating area with windows looking out over the moat and a lavishly appointed bathroom. Plenty of appropriately posh looking toiletries are provided and it was a nice touch to have a proper cafetiere in the room with filter coffee.

Snacks and drinks in the bar area were great quality at not unexpected high prices, although no more expensive than similar hotels I've stayed at.

The medieval night was lots of fun, the entertainment was funny and well done, and the food was rustic and plentiful. The red wine was rough though!

The breakfast was as good as any I have eaten anywhere before, really really high quality. Thick cut rashers of bacon, perfectly cooked, fat sausages, fried bread, fresh grilled tomatoes, great coffee and fruit juice all finished off with some buttery pastries set me up for the journey home.

The staff were great throughout and are obviously proud to be part of the experience. We'll definitely be going back, we loved it!

The feature rooms are not exactly as the pictures show, HOWEVER they are still full of character and a delight to stay in, the grounds itself are fantastic, and have a nice walking trail to wander through at your leisure. We attended a Medieval Banquet night, the food was great, as was the entertainment. The prices are as you'd expect from a fine establishment such as this, I'd stay again tomorrow! Top place!

Stayed here for one night in April, my first stay here, and it was really really lovely, the hotel was beautiful and the grounds were gorgeous. The staff that we saw were very friendly an had impeccable manners, especially Sofo and Nick in the Garden Restaurant. We will definately be going back for a themed night in the future.

What a find! We took advantage of an offer and this must be one of the best experiences ever!
From the Cistercian Abbey reception area with lovely stained glass, a pulpit, confessional boxes , to the Victorian style bedrooms each uniquely fitted with cabin trunks or books and large, comfortable chairs, sumptiously fitted bathrooms this is a luxurious setting. The conservatory restaurant, filled with people enjoying afternoon tea when we arrived ,was transformed to a magical place for dinner.
The food was first rate too and the staff were well trained, friendly, treating guests as individuals and not 'clients' even though the hotel was obviously busy with business conferences. An example of this service is that as a light sleeper I was disturbed by the air conditioning in the Priory Park building and the Night manager kindly moved me to another room in the main building so that I could have a good night's rest. Well done!
The surroundings are beautiful, the lake and grounds managed by Coventry City Council.
We recommend this to couples wanting a really romantic break.
We would love to return!

Room Tip: The priory park rooms are fine as long as you have no trouble getting to sleep.

We stayed at Coombe Abbey Hotel to celebrate my wife's birthday. The room was beautiful, very quiet, great nights sleep. We had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent, service superb, good value for money. Hotel set in Coombe Park, nice for a walk after breakfast. Would definitely recommend, would ask for a room in the main hotel if possible.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main hotel.
