“Authentic Italian experience.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

I really enjoyed my visit, my Sicilian friend assured me that the food was authentic and the staff are friendly. The location is in an older part of Coventry that may not look too attractive to the visitor, but there is plenty of parking in the road outside the restaurant. I will go again as San Marco is much better than its rivals.

“Really disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

Visited here on a groupon deal and were expecting great things after reading recent reviews, but left very dissapointed.
Firstly there was no draught beer only bottles which were very expensive, and brought to us already poured into a glass with no bottle in sight. I ordered the lasagne as a starter and I have never had such a sloppy runny mess in my life And it was only Luke warm. My wife had prawn cocktail and you could count the prawns on one hand.
The mains were only slightly better with very dry chicken with a very salty over garlicy sauc with a few veg. The coffee was the best bit! We left exactly an hour after entering, still hungry and very dissapointed.

“Old Fashioned Italian Restaurant....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We had the pleasure of eating here last night...the restaurant is situated in a very strange location as the street it is on has been by-passed by the road system and is now really a street full of Take-Aways and Barber Shops. However on the hottest day of the year it was most welcoming to find that they had Air-Conditioning and it was pleasantly cool. We had a lovely welcome and a full description of the daily specials over a pre dinner drink. The food was all fresh and home-made and very well served and presented. We really enjoyed a Litre Bottle of their House Red Wine with the meal. The décor is amazing...it is really "Traditional" Italian ....We shall be returning in the not too distant future!!!

“Like being in one of Montelbanos lunch time haunts!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

It looks very very traditional to me. The decor was like you would expect a traditional Italian to be like. You could easily imagine the furniture coming all the way from Sicily! Very pleasing!

The staff were very accommodating and pleasant. We were not rushed or hassled in the slightest. Our waiter was friendly without being over friendly; he persuaded us to have a lemon tarte type dessert which was extremely nice! The food in general was very good and the house wine went down very well!

So much better than going to a chain. I'd definitely go again.
