“Best Tapas we have had outside of Spain!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

We had a lovely evening when we visited La Plancha last night. Downstairs is a lively cocktail bar, with two floors of restaurant above. We dined in the restaurant. A lovely atmosphere, friendly waitress and really good tapas! We lived in Spain for a few years and the food was just like being back there again.
Highly recommended!

“Terrible service. Some food good but lots "not available"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

Booked a table for 4 on a Saturday evening and arrived in time, downstairs bar area was packed and we were told to go to our table in the upstairs area. Upstairs was half full but we were told to come back in 10 minutes. As there was nowhere to sit downstairs we questioned this given there were so many tables which appeared 'ready' an was told "oh ok you can sit there if you really want to". We were presented with the menu and ordered 2 bottles of red. The menu has a great selection of dishes which would appeal to most tastes. We chose 11 dishes between us, ordered and waited, and waited (not even the wine arrived). Eventually the food started to arrive followed by the waitress to tell us that four of the dishes we had ordered were not available. We re-selected and enquired as to the whereabouts of the wine- "it's on it's way". 10 minutes later the waitress returned to tell us they hadn't any of the wine we had chosen but showed us a "similar bottle that's not on the menu" we chanced it with this wine- which turned out to be really nice- even though the waitress couldn't tell us how much it was costing us. We'd finished most of our food, some of which was great, some not so, when we flagged the waitress down to chase two missing dishes "it's coming soon" was the reply. One did eventually arrive, but alas the mussels joined half the original order as a last minute entrant on the "not available" list. By dessert time we were looking for the hidden cameras; I ate only one mouthful of churros which tasted more of garlic than the garlic bread and the lemon tart was, you guessed it, off.

Maybe we picked the wrong night, after all things go wrong in the best of places, the difference here is that it seems no-one is bothered. I'd like to say I'd give it another chance but I really won't, life's too short, and there are much much better places in the area to eat.

“Disappointing...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

We had been very eager to eat at La Plancha but never again... Whilst the service was reasonable and the wine nice our (vegetarian) choices were on the whole disappointing and in part inedible.

“Poor customer service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

Food was ok but the service was terrible. I've never been openly cursed before when the food was late and tasted bad.

Get over your self la plancha, your food isn't that good to fight over. Avoid.
