Eight of us stayed at this hotel on 20-22 June 2008. Staff were very friendly and helpful barring 1 barman! Hannah is an absolute treasure who served us with a smile and was able to banter easily with us. I have to say that she was the only member of staff covering breakfast on the Saturday and worked at the speed of light to keep the various food stations well stocked - again with a smile and a friendly word.
There were 2 of her colleagues working on Sunday morning and I have to say thet between them they couldn't compare with Hannah!
This is the first time we have used Innkeepers Lodge but if the rest are comparable we'll use them again.

Duty mamager Nicki was also very pleasant and helpful.

We booked a night at the Innkeeper's Lodge Sutton Coldfield because my son wanted to visit Drayton Manor nearby.
We paid £29.95 for bed and breakfast and a family room.
On arrival we were greeted at the clearly marked check in desk, booked in quickly and were directed to our room which was in a seperate building. We were also told that we could park in front of the other building. The room was clean and spacious, with a double bed and a large fold out sofa for my son. The shower room seemed new and the shower was great. One of my main bugbears with hotel rooms is the temperature...usually far too hot. But this one was a very pleasant temperature and I even had to turn the heater up a little in the evening.
We ate in the Toby carvery and had 3 lovely meals and then took a bottle of wine to our room.
After a good nights sleep we made our way to the restaurant for breakfast. This was a large array of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, croissants (my favourite), bread to toast, juices, teas and coffees and more. We filled ourselves up and posted our key in the box and left . No fuss with checking out.

Overall I think we spent about £70 which included, bed, breakfast, evening meal with wine for 3 people....bargain!!

No problems with booking in as others mentioned. Great staff, clean rooms good breakfast! Great value for money, might have liked a bath (only showers) but for the money i'm really being picky now! Highly recommend them for the price!

Check in at bar (Not brilliant when busy) but friendly pleasant staff ensured we were in our clean room( with beds made inc sofa bed) in no time. No complaints whatsoever. Nice pub attached with top class array of beers and wines. Next morning very nice (free) continental breakfast. This was our first experience of innkeepers lodge, and we were suitably impressed. All for £29.95 per night for 2 adults 1 child with free breakfast on special pre pay rate.Great little place to stay.

We stayed at this Innkeeper's Lodge last Saturday night, since it was near to where we were attending a friend's birthday party. Perfect location for Four Oaks!
The check-in process was the only problem and not really a good first impression of the 'human' side of the hotel/staff experience. We had to wait at the bar area, behind another group of guests who seemed to experience some problems, not least of which was that neither of the two rooms they had booked were ready to be occupied at 4pm. The result was that we we delayed in the check-in for our two rooms. We were repeatedly given apologies and after 15 minutes another member of staff came along and completed the check-in.
The two rooms we had were located in the Lodge facing the main bar/restaurant complex. The rooms were reasonably appointed and unlike the other low-cost 'Inns' and 'Lodges, a hairdryer was provided in each room. I regard this as a very basic 'non-luxury'. Parking was provided next to the Lodge.
The next morning we had an excellent 'inclusive' buffet breakfast, which offered a great choice in drinks, cereals and bread.
All - in - all this was a good experience which could be improved with a more efficient check-in facility.

    • Liked — Location, safe parking, value and great breakfast.
    • Disliked — The slowness of the Check-inn process. No lift in the main Lodge where we stayed.
