the food was terrible the room uninviting and cold
the plumbing was unspeakable

and no one cared if you could find anyone to listen

Booked a night in suite. The parking was around the corner, but was not complimentory. The check in was fast and accurate. The staff were helpful when asked any questions.

The room consisted of an amazing large living area and large bedroom, 2 bathrooms one with a bath and shower, tea/coffe making facilities, safe, ice dispencer down the corridor. The bed was very big and plenty of freebies in the rooms. The room was on highest floor with great views at night.

The breakfast was complimentory with the room, however i found the breakfast area too small for the amount of guests. I had to wait for a table and when i got a table and went to choose breakfast i found that someone else had been seated on our table. We were quickly seated somewhere else but had to wait while the table was quickly cleaned and laid out, while my food got cold. The breakfast was what you would expect cold choices and eggs, sausage and bacon.

Room Tip: high floor for good views.

Whilst close to the city centre, the Radisson Blu isn't in an especially great location. With the current building work going on around New Street station there are a lot of cones and site-entrances to navigate when walking there.

The reception area is small but they were efficient. Worth noting that they have 'smoking' rooms so make sure you're not allocated one of them if you don't want it. The lifts require a key card to work which can be a little irksome but may be reflective of the immediate locality.

Rooms are spacious enough and the floor to ceiling windows ensure they feel bright and fresh, even if the fixtures and fittings are starting to look a little tired. Some real pro points though - free wifi throughout, plug points in the safe, plenty of hanging space. On the downside, when I ask for a king size bed, I don't expect two single beds zipped together. The beds are also quite (extremely) soft. The 7th floor seems to be experiencing some rather loud, groaning water pipes.

Breakfast is pretty good, judged on the quality of the scrambled eggs.

Had terrible room service on prior visit and wrote to hotel. Promised complimentary meal on next stay so went to restaurant to be told they were very busy and if they sat me it would be at least an hour before any food. So ordered on room service. By this time I had used the bathroom sink which would not drain. On second evening there was a weird noise in the room that could not be fixed so I was moved to another room. I then had no TV service in new room so moved again to another room. This time the room was tiny (1020) and smelt awful when entering it - damp and like it had not been opened in days. Last time I will use this hotel.

I have now stayed 2 x in this Hotel and have both times been very happy. Staff is very good and helpful rooms are perfect for a short stay (avoid smoking rooms) Bar is well stocked however it would be better if they came too your table too take orders. Other than that if i have to come back too Birmingham this is where I will stay.

Room Tip: Dont take the smoking rooms they are very heavily smoked in and you cannot open any windows

I stayed here overnight for a business meeting. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from New Street Station. The whole of the area is a bit downbeat and certainly not attractive.

The hotel itself is absolutely fine. It is clean, well maintained but a little bit dated in the rooms. However, there is nothing to complain about.

The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to a nice area by the canal reached through an upmarket shopping and restaurant complex called The Mailbox. This was handy because, surprisingly, the hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday (although the bar serves food).

I'm sure there are more attractive areas to stay in but if you are there for a meeting and need to be in the centre, the Radisson is a decent choice
