“Good position in Birmingham”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

The hotel is situated just minutes from the Bullring shopping and China Town. A very modern hotel with good rooms and comfy beds. The staff are very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Breakfast was OK but not the best.

Grt room, bright good view, marvellous food and the package was well worth it, staff negotiated late check out and they do what they can to help or if things have to change they will replace which was excellent.

Only thing a bit disapointing, was the gym, no steam room or pool but it was satisfactory and ok if it had a pool/steam room and jacuzzi then it would be even more marvalous. WAS A BRILL STAY will go back definately as a great treat and a short small break fromt he norm.

Room Tip: aim to upgrade to business!!! more roomy

Better than most in Birmingham. The staff were very nice. The rooms I feel are too 70's looking. Don't avoid but don't expect too much. It is in a good location and easy to find. Parking is off site but you get a better rate

We booked a night here for our anniversary, we were going to see a show at the Hippodrome and this hotel ideally located.
When booking (and on the advice given on Tripadvisor) our Business Class room, I requested a high, corner room.....it was fantastic!
As brummies we loved the cityscape, the floor-to-ceiling windows just made it better.
The bed was big and clean, the coffee machine a big hit with my husband and the complimentary wine and fruit we received from the front office was a wonderful surprise!
The hotel is centrally located, easy to find from the M6 and New Street Station.
The parking is in an NCP car park behind the hotel which makes it a couple of minutes walk to reception....not ideal when you travel as heavily as I do :o) but only a minor detail.....the overnight charge when we were there was £14.
Overall, the room was fantastic, the only minor bugbear was that the bathroom could do with a little tlc but nothing major.
It was noisy from outside at night but nothing you wouldn't expect from a city centre hotel.
Breakfast was good especially the pancake maker!
And a big thank you to the staff who helped me find my phone when I left it in the room!
We had checked out and travelled 10 minutes when I realised, I immediately called the hotel and housekeeping checked the room, unfortunately they couldn't find it, I drove back and was taken to the room to search for it....I was so relieved when I found it lodged between the bed and bedside table! Lesson learnt :o)

Photos make hotel look ultra-modern and chic. It is not. Drab and shabby rooms - stained carpets and headboards, chipped furniture and dirty bathrooms. Public areas either dark wood or concrete surfaces result in a dull and dim interior. Horrible location on Holloway Circus - I would not venture out after dusk - clearly drug dealing and other stuff going on in the streets outside. Only redeeming factor is it is 5 mins walk to New Street Station (itself a terrible place). I had to change rooms to get above the street noise - anything less than 9th floor is too noisy. Plenty of other options.

Good location, about 10 mins walk from New St station - come out the main entrance turn right at the pedistrian crossing and about 500m down on your right. Impressive atrium hotel with restaurant on the first floor and a good range of meeting rooms on the second.

Rooms are lovely with air condition, mini-bar and equipped to a high standard as well as being spacious. Food was a disappointment, both breakfast and evening meals were not the best quality in a rather soul-less restaurant. In all cases staff seemed neither interested of motivated to ensure the customer had a good experience. Sure this is a works in progress, but is noticeable

Spent here for one night and thought it was going to be a good experience as recomended.

Horrible experience. Was on the 13th floor and i could here all the loud noise from thecroad. Plus you clearly hear everything from near rooms!!!! This did not stopped until I call the reception at 2am , someone from the reception came upstairs only at 3 and the screaming and laughing stopped.
A combination of rude people and bad room walls !!!
Moreover chewingum on the carpter..at least 3!!!!
Went for breakfast..sat there for ages waiting someone to ask if I wanted a coffee...had to go and chase the waitressto get one!!

Awful place, one of the worse night sleeping of my life!!!!never again!
