“They thought of everything”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014

Premier Inns are my usual go-to budget hotel chain, but Hampton by Hilton has been winning me over recently with their classy decor, comfy beds, quality bedding and perfectly formed rooms. They appear to thought of everything right down to the handy laptop tray, plenty of plug sockets for charging phones and devices, an iron and ironing board, safety deposit box, great air conditioning and a proper salon-style hairdryer. There was also free wifi, and while it connected just fine to my main device, the phone was a bit challenging to connect so I gave up andused my own data service. It's a problem I've had in their London hotel too.

For a bargain advance rate of £58 per room per night I also got a complimentary breakfast buffet including a modest hot counter selection, decent juice & coffee and the option of toast, cereal, croissants, fruit, yoghurt and assorted muffins. All this in a pleasant breakfast room which turns into a bar in the evening. They even have workstations so you can enjoy refreshments while doing a spot of work on the laptop and even keep an eye on the 24 hour news channel at the same time.

Reception staff were friendly and professional and always happy to help. Rooms were reached by 2 lifts which were operated by room key - a nice security touch.

This hotel is in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, five minute walk to St Pauls Square area (Jam House, pubs, restaurants), and about 20 minutes stroll into the heart of the city and the attractions of Centenary Square, The Mail Box, Chinese Quarter and Brindley Place. Highly recommended!

Fabulous staff, luxurious rooms with all the toiletries you could need, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, laundry service, fully equipped gym. Nice little reception shop selling biscuits, choccys toothpaste etc. Free Buffet breakfast served up until ten and a free newspaper. Oh and free wifi...it's great for business or leisure. The best hotel at this price in Brum!

The hotel is excellent in every way but what sets it apart from other hotels is the friendliness of all the staff in the hotel, with a special mention to Komal, Sarah & Sarah and Johnathon. We travelled as a family of 8 people and stayed in 2 x triple rooms & 1 twin room, all were of a good size and had all the necessery amenities. Parking at the rear is reasonable £3.20 for a day & the Wifi signal is very good. The breakfast is super and we enjoyed a few drinks in the Bar in the evening time.

The hotel is located close to the city centre, approx. 15 minutes’ walk to the Bullring shopping centre & also next to the Jewellery Quarter and St. Pauls Cathedral. There is a Metro station next to the hotel and one of the best Indian restaurants’ in Birmingham is on Constitution Hill, 'The Hen & Chickens', just a 2 minute walk away.

We hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

Stayed here 2 nights with my family of four. Located next to the 'jewelry quarter', this is a quiet and efficiently-run hotel that also comes at a very comfortable price. Our main agenda was to visit the Cadbury's factory for my younger daughter and the hotel's reception helped us with a taxi. The breakfast spread was very good on both the mornings and kept us full till late in the afternoon. It's just a ten minutes by walk from the city center. Highly recommended.

three of us satyed for a night and had a wonderful experience. clean rooms, fresh linen, impressed with the facilities like wifi, newspaper, air conditioning, located in proximity with the city centre, public car park at the rear (very cheap parking fees), the breakfast could be abit better-craved for a couple more varieties for vegetarians. The guy at the front desk spoke with british upper lip but Komal (another employee) is extremely courteous and pleasant. Overall a nice experience and would love to stay again.

I paid a little over £50 for one night including breakfast. The rooms are well equipped and clean and the beds comfortable. Good WIFI connection in the areas of the hotel I was in. I made the mistake of opening the curtains to look out of the window for a view of the surrounding area, all I got was a concrete wall to look at. The hotel is nicely located for the Jewelry quarter and the restaurant's surrounding it. Breakfast was ok, although not keen on the cafeteria style service with the bright red plastic serving tray and having to put it away on the rack when you have finished. I guess by reducing the number of waiting on staff allows them to keep the prices low. All in all a comfortable stay and good value. Remember you are not paying £100+++ I doubt to find a more comfortable hotel for the money.

This is the second time staying here and the experience was first class. Booking in was a breeze & the room was very big, clean and comfortable (very modern) Breakfast is very good with a large choice of cerials, fruit, bakeries & cooked breakfast. Coffee & tea on tap too. Have breakfast early to avoid the rush!
