5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

Just a walk from all the city has to offer, this Hotel provided very friendly and helpful staff, lovely clean and modern rooms and an overall relaxed vibe that made for a great stay. The only thing I would have preferred would have been a secure hotel car park (we used the municipal car park just around the corner though and didn't have any problems).

Start with the positives. The staff are lovely. Friendly, helpful and well trained. There are teething problems though. The place has only been open a few months and it shows. The door on my room wouldn't shut, but to be fair the fixed it immediately and without fuss. The pull curtains didn't close properly. The breakfast is ok but a bit chaotic. The choice of beer in the bar is poor and not all were available. The rooms are fine though and the location is handy for central Brum. All in all I would stay again, though can't comment on value for money as I wasn't paying.

We got last minute tickets to watch Micky Flanaghan at the NIA and needed a hotel. This hotel was newly opened in July 2013 and is approximately 5 minutes taxi ride away from Broad Street. The room was excellent and had free WIFI and the complimentary breakfast was very very good - lots of choice, hot and appetising. The reception was very helpful and check in was completed in seconds. Security is very good and you need a card to access the lift so you won't find strange people wandering around the corridors. This hotel is right next door to St Pauls Metro so if you are on a metro line is really convenient so you don't need to drive. However, if driving is your only option 24 hours parking only costs £3.00. Was that impressed we have already pre-booked for another stay in December. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.

The dinner experience was awful; after waiting for 50 mins to be served, you would expect something half decent, but it was disgusting. Not enough staff working and not even apologised after the wait!

Good value clean comfortable fresh and new hotel. Good for jewellery quarter but not so nice to be in this area at night as bit quiet and run down. Staff good breakfast busy but good. Only fault. Small window which does not open but has ac.

This hotel was ok. The staff were friendly when we arrived, the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was in a good location for us as we wanted to visit the jewellery quarter. We ate out at Cucina Rustica nearby, which was a lovely restaurant. Breakfast at the hotel was disappointing. As it was a Sunday morning there were a lot of people for breakfast and it didn't seem like the restaurant area could cope. There were long queues to get anything to eat, lots of things were running out, trays ran out, knifes ran out- there were plenty of dirty ones piled up on tables, but it didn't seem like there were enough staff clearing the tables in order to replenish the trays and cutlery!

This hotel was not my first choice but a late decision to attend an industry conference meant choice was limited. The exterior is not very imposing as elements of its previous existence (possibly retail or warehouse) are still evident. However inside it is a new build with a very open design. Rooms are a reasonable size and ergonomically well designed. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and willing to help and advise. There is parking just around the corner at very reasonable rates.
