Stayed here mid-week with my partner. The hotel is on the outskirts of the city centre on what feels like a derelict industrial estate. We drove past the hotel a couple of times as we couldn't find the car park. We even rang the hotel but they did not answer. Eventually found the car park and was very sceptical leaving my car there. It is very run down, with signs everywhere saying that thieves target the area and the hotel accepts no responsibility. There were also lots of empty beer cans and rubbish around the place. Check in was OK, the receptionist, however, did not mention anything about breakfast or the bar or anything. She asked if we would like a room with wifi so we said yes and she gave us room 101 - this is precisely where this room should go. It was awful. The room was miles down a number of corridors. We opened the door to a stench of cigarettes. The room was tiny and very run down. There were what looked like bleached foot prints on the floor?! (see photos) There was no bath. There was no welcome pack or any kind of information regarding the hotel. The bedside table was broken. The television didn't work and there was no wifi. The room was right on the street so the curtains had to be kept shut as there were lots of people hanging around outside who could clearly see into the room. There was ash all over the window sills. We felt like we were in some kind of hostel, it was extremely chlaustrophobic. We immediately decided we could not stay in this room. We went back to reception. The girl did not even apologise she simply handed us another key - they must get this all the time. The second room was much nicer, on the second floor and much more what to expect from the price paid. Nice views of the city centre and much bigger than the previous room. This room had a bath. It was still in need of improvements and redecoration but it was much more comfortable. If you want a very cheap hotel then this is for you....but be very careful which room you get as you will probably have to change!
