“Centrally based, perfect as conference night stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

Despite an uninspiring entrance and slightly strange reception set up (on third floor), the rooms are spotless, beds comfortable, and shower modern, spotless, and fresh. Breakfast more than adequate.
I would like real curtains on the window - feels slightly exposed with a thick net type curtain, even though I recognise that on the tenth floor was unlikely to give a good view to anyone outside....
Security also good.
Overall represents convenience to centre of city at excellent value.
Would definitely use again.

Great to hear you enjoyed your visit with us, also behind the net curtain is a black out blind, so next time you visit, be sure to drop it down for that added darkness and privacy, we look forward to seeing you again soon

As a rule I would rather pay a bit more and get top notch service and room. This was booked, by mistake actually, for an overnight stay following a visit to the NEC ( Thought it was at the NIA - Duh !! ) We did not expect too much as budget hotels are generally ok but not much more.
First impressions were good. The receptionist was lovely and very helpful. Good eye contact, nice smile and happy to help with advice, taxi booking, car parking etc.
After an annoying time with the lift we eventually got to our room on the top floor (17th). View was brilliant and the room itself clean and well appointed. First stop was a tour of the bathroom. Very impressive indeed. Either they have exemplary housekeeping staff or it was recently refurbished, but really very nice indeed. Puts some 4 and 5 star establishments to shame, at least as far as looks go. But dear oh dear the shower was dreadful. First of all the water was nowhere near powerful enough, but that said, probably just as well because a few minutes and the tray filled up and was in danger of overflowing. The tray itself was cheap plastic and like standing on a trampoline.
A lot of the time budget hotels get the basics right and lack in the detail. In this case the basics were not good enough, but the detail touches were great.
Breakfast was superb, good hot and plentiful and apart from not really enough room to sit in comfort we had no complaints at all in that area.
All in all I would be happy to stay there again as long as they fix the damn shower.

Room Tip: Top floor views are great Check out the shower before you venture in.

Thank you for your feed back, and please accept my apologies for the issue with your shower, our engineers are currently in the process of assessing all our showers and trays, to avoid such issues in the future, thanks again

from the outside didnt look much & being on Broad St we expected to hear lots of noise from the street. The rooms are several floors up from ground level with no noticeable noise from the street & were spacious and well laid out. The pillows and bed were very comfortable affording a very pleasant sleep. Breakfast was buffet style with a good choice of food & a microwave to make it piping hot. Hotel has paid on site parking at £10 a night. We booked it the day before and got an excellent price. Staff were polite and friendly. Thouroughly recommend

I stayed here for 2 nights for a conference at ICC which is a safe, 5 min walk away. I say "safe" because I was a single female travelling alone but never felt uneasy. The hotel is very busy and very impersonal. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to chat about the weather but would like eye contact and a "how was your stay?" would be nice! Receptionists couldn't be bothered. Breakfast was so informal that you grabbed a table anywhere, no one to greet you to tell you where to sit. Parking £10 per night, I don't agree with having to pay when you've paid for the room. I'm staying at the Crowne Plaza next week and can't wait to compare.

Im sorry to hear you found our reception team quite impersonal, they usually pride themselves on the interaction with our guests, however clearly not on this occasion, so please do accept my apologies, and I hope it doesn't put you off visiting again in the future

wife and i booked in here to go to the NIA (big mistake but i have reviewed that as well). Rooms very clean. Breakfast was above average for the price , But a bit of a pokey dining area for brekkie . Television worked perfectly which i find usually doesnt in most hotels . Helpful and courteous staff and the double room was only £79. Parking was a tenner for the night . Not top marks but close!

I got a great deal on last minute.com for 2 nights b&b in this hotel. It's in the centre of Broad St just 5 minutes from City and Symphony Halls. Great room and friendly efficient staff with free wifi. Not much of a bar - but that didn't worry me. Breakfast choice was reasonable, but a bit overcrowded. It was a buffet though so nice and quickl

Fantastic hotel in central birmingham, we have stayed in most of the hotels on broad street and this is by far the best. Staff were so helpful they even organised an early check-in for us which we massively appreciated. The girl at the desk was polite and very friendly. The rooms are clean spacious and comfortable. Bathroom has the most powerful shower and is quite luxurious in the decor and products. Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from even a paper to read. I don't eat fried food but great selection on fruit breads pastries etc. I will defo be back and won't ever consider staying anywhere else on broad street.
