I do look at some of the poor reviews sometimes and think that people have too high expectations but we have eaten in a wide variety of restaurants and pubs across the range. I think the food and service need to be better than this to meet the reviews. We may have had a bad evening but we won't be back to check.
The restaurant was quite empty when we ate which was fine with us as usually this would mean the service should be better as the staff in the kitchen are less busy. My husband had soup which was lukewarm but it did take a while to arrive so he ate it and did comment the flavour was fine. Then the main came for which the accompanying veg were in the smallest dishes. They got the order wrong (which happens) but then took the additional potatoes away. The potatoes were lukewarm aswell and I am wondering whether this was a case of the end of service quality. When asked whether we had enjoyed our meal we said that he was a bit disappointing and hadn’t met expectations. In a well run establishment you would expect this to trigger questions regarding what was wrong and even by way of lip service suggest that this will be fedback.
Overall disappointing but others may have been more lucky. Overpriced for what it is and it just didn’t live up to it. Had we had an exceptional meal we wouldn’t have considered the cost.
