“Great new hotel in heart of brum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

Great hotel, very modern, large rooms, large restaurant with a lovely breakfast.
The white company toiletries were a treat and staff were very polite!
One complaint - didn't sleep much because of the noise outside, must have been a bunch of rowdy lads come in from a night out and couldn't get into the corridor (you have to use the keycard) so were banging the door down, continued for a while. Tip to the hotel: try to make the rooms more soundproof.

Room Tip: try to get a higher floor and make sure your room is nowhere near the main corridor door

A stylish contemporary hotel that gets everything right. We stayed for the night so that we could see a show at the Nia. Traffic was a nightmare. It took over 4 hours from north London and most of that was spent in crawling traffic jams in Birmingham trying to get into town. When we finally got near we had trouble identifying the car park. The Selfridges carpark is on the other side of the road from the shopping centre (building with silver circles all over it) and also has a big sign saying Moor street on it which is easier to see. You can not turn right into it so you must keep going and go on to the hotel, drive around the hotel and go back up to the car park with the bullring on the right. If you park in here and you get the hotel to validate the card you can park as long as you like for £5. The hotel does have a car park which is not mentioned in their literature. If you drive past the hotel with the main entrance on your right you can take the next right and go in the gates decorated with leaves, i believe the hotel charges £10 to park. All this fuss and a gridlocked town means getting a train to Moor st station would be so much easier. Upon arrival we were impressed, upgraded to a suite. It was a great room, stylish with quality fittings, tv over the bath, complimentary chocs and wine, possibly lacked a little wow for a top of the range room. Free wifi and fully air conned which we were very happy with, all aircon and no windows did make the air very dry and we both coughed alot during our stay. We ate at the restaurant, a truly amazing singer made a brilliant atmosphere and the food was delicious. Beds were so comfortable we managed to oversleep, luckily breakfast is available till 11am. I have read many complaints about breakfast but at 10am and the restaurant was over half full and there was plenty of food for all. Very tastyexcept the scrambled egg which was disguting not that this was a big deal and plenty of choice, good size juice glasses. Staff were very polite, helpfull and friendly. This modern hotel is right next to the bull ring shopping centre and a short walk from the German Christmas market. Even though there were a few tiny niggles none distracted from our stay and we would definately stay again.

What a great hotel. Stayed for 2 nights to spend time with my disabled mother for Christmas shopping and to take in the Christmas Market. My mother has not been well for a while and this was just the tonic she needed. From my first contact with the hotel - ringing to make a reservation to my final goodbye the staff here can not be faulted. A smile and a friendly hello from each and everyone we encountered. Room was perfect and a faulty sink was soon put right with a wonderful apology and no fuss. Did not use all the high tec facilities in the room but loved the control from bedside for the whole lighting in the room. Great walk in shower. Spotlessly clean - everywhere. No problem with the pillows for me but we are all different - a close friend who stays in hotels more than she would like chooses to take her own pillow with her. Breakfast was an enjoyable experience and not the hustle and bustle you can get with a self serve buffet and the staff were very happy to prepare items not already on display. We dined on one night and were not dissapointed and the two singers made it even more enjoyable. Jane, the genral manager, is doing a wonderful job and I can't wait for more Hotel La Tours to open but will definately be visiting this one again.

This hotel was great! It is relatively new, and very well designed, with a nice decor. It is situated no more than 3 minutes away walking from Bham Moor Street and the Selfridges end of the BullRing making everywhere pretty accessible in walking distance.

The staff are amazingly friendly and you feel quite well taken care of. The rooms are amazing, with the size being larger than average. We stayed in the standard double room and we were extremely impressed. The room featured a Media Hub: allowing you to charge up your phones, connect the TV to your tablets, and access bluetooth so you could wirelessly play your itunes music through the room speakers. Top notch!
The bed was extremely comfortable and with a large flat screen situated right infront of the bed on the wall - there is little to complain about.
The breakfast was also great - with a buffet selection including typical full english items, pastries and croissants, teas, coffees, several juices and cereals and granola. Charged at around 16 pounds (while a little pricey) it is well worth it compared to other hotels I've been to. The restaurant where you eat is also tastefully laid out, with staff on call to take care of you.

All in all, amazing hotel. next time i go to birmingham, i will stay here for sure.

Stayed this weekend. Hotel great clean and room was fantastic. Brilliant location and breakfast was fab. My only two complaints was, turn the heating down in bar area and restaurant it was horrific and on Saturday when we returned from shopping we went for a drink in the bar and one hostess looked down her nose at us but would I stay again? YES

We stayed at the Hotel La Tour for one night in Birmingham and were very impressed. The executive room was clean and beautiful and, as everyone has already mentioned, very modern! We got in late and did not read through the instuctions for the 'technology in the room' but just pressed all the buttons and managed. The chaise longue was pretty and we had views of the iconic Selfridges building. Would definitely recommend.

We parked at Selfridges and upon leaving the hotel we got our parking validated and only paid £5 for the full stay. I believe there is now parking at the hotel too.

Next time we would just take the train, as the hotel is so close to Moor Street Station!

from the outside of the hotel i knew the inside would look amazing the whole interior is perfect.
The staff are friendly and helped me check in on the machine.
walking to the room was making me more excited the technology is perfect. Card operated doors.
As soon as me and my friend stepped in the room our mouth was wide open THE ROOM WAS SO beautiful, i believe its the best hotel ive been to. CLEAN quiet and comfy. my only ISSUE was the Home media hub wasnt working so i couldnt play my music through the bluetooth and the car park was full but that was a minor. overall everyone should try out this hotel.

Room Tip: executive rooms are nice i could see my car from the room
