Travelodge tends to be a bit more hit-and-miss than my other favourite budget hotel company, Premier Inn, which is reflected in the fact that generally Travelodges are cheaper, and this is one of the better Travelodges I have stayed in. The chain seems to be going through a massive refurbishment period of all of its hotels, with those which have already been updated proudly stating “Refurbished with our fresh new look” when you book online. This is one of the many which has been given the updated look.
If you book a Travelodge then you should know the score – a great rate for a clean, simple room with no-frills. We paid £45 for a double room on a Saturday night, which is excellent for a weekend in the centre of a major city. We opted for this particular one due to its proximity to Moor St station, but there are plenty of good locations to choose from throughout the centre of Birmingham .
This particular one is very handy for the shopping area of Birmingham , right next to the shops and close to the Bullring and the other high streets the city has to offer. A mere 5 minute walk and you will find yourself near Colmore Row, the financial area of the city, and 10-15 minutes walk to Broad St, Brindleyplace and the Mailbox for a variety of restaurants, bars and clubs.
Overall, a very good stay in Travelodge Moor St . I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if needing a cheap clean hotel room in central Birmingham .
