Nice large clean rooms.
Friendly, helpfull staff.
Breakfast a bit school cafeteria and the bathroom fan went on for ages.
Nice pub next door too, so we wern't restricted to hotel.
On the whole an enjoyable stay.

£120 for a freezing cold room (window faulty), twin when i had booked double, no white wine, a wake up call we didn't order so we were awake at 6, an inedible breakfast, £7 to park, a taxi driver from the NEC who I thought was going to kill us. Good job the concert was good or the weekend would have been truly terrible. Oh and staff on reception who clearly didn't give two hoots about anything. Don't stay there!

Stayed here for 1 night before flying out from the airport on holiday. Room was functional but minimal, service on check in very friendly, service in restaurant very slow (gave up in the end and got a refund), Best bit is location as very easy for the airport & NEC. Our advice is to eat at the pub next door!!

We stayed here while seeing a concert and it was a good, clean, value for money hotel. The rooms were what you'd expect and very clean. Next door was a pub which had a good menu, better than the usual pub grub. The LG arena is about a 25min walk along the driveway to the complex. You have to walk along a grass verge but providing its dry you're perfectly ok. You can pay to go on the shuttle if it's raining. Breakfast was included in the price, it's basic but perfectly eatable, for the price we paid for the room were happy. Parking is £7 for a 24hr period. Service was good at reception , and in the morning our hair dryer blew up but no problem - the maintenance guy arrived to fix it in less than 5 mins.

Please note that a copy of this review has been posted on the Holiday Inn website, so here goes....

This hotel could and should be rated higher. Unfortunately the friendly check-in staff and the clean rooms (though we'll come to the linen later) are basically undone by the breakfast "service" which comes straight from Fawlty Towers.

If you are going to advertise that there is a selection of hot food for breakfast, then please make sure there is. Stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend and on both mornings there was a distinct lack of hot food (specifically sausages) but also NO glasses for fruit juice and NO mugs for coffee on either occasion. The latter did eventually arrive, but not many. So it was a question of elbowing other guests out of the way and just grabbing!

Same with the ubiquitous sausages - only more so. The kitchen seemed unable to realise that once one lot had come out, they should put another lot on. Also there was (on the Saturday morning), no-one apparently clearing tables - I did a few. I'm sure that the "snippy" attitude of the breakfast staff was due to stress.........I was only trying to point out that the tray of sausages she had just brought out was virtually gone once I had taken my 2.
Not that the cold buffet selection was anything to write home about either. Again, it was a distinct lack of volume as it wasn't being topped up.

On to the rooms which at first appearance were clean. However one of the bath towels had 2 holes in it - about the size of a 50p and the sheet on one bed had some sort of (purple?) stain on it.

Overall, I think the Hotel needs a Hotel Manager and a Kitchen Manager to get the place up to the level it should be at.

Shame really.

For the cost of the hotel I would have expected a full cooked breakfast and not just scrambled eggs, sausages and baked beans! However I loved the choice of a hard bed or a soft bed!
Check in and out was slick but despite the fact that the car park barrier was broken I still had to pay the £7 to get out.

My wife and i stayed for on night after seing a concert at the LG ,we booked it because on the website it stated a ten min walk from nec,it was 15 mins by taxi also stated free shuttle when actually £4.00 each way ,rooms were fine ,the girl on reception when checking out required a personality transplant.

Our website states that we are on the NEC site, we do offer a shuttle service to the Train Station at a cost of £2.00 per person return, which takes less than 5 minutes, from the Station it is a short walk to the NEC and LG Arena. If you would like to contact me directly to advise which other site you booked through I will of course investigate, to ensure all websites through which our hotel are be booked is correct.
