“Very happy indeed.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

We have stayed at the Hyatt and Hotel Indigo in The Cube in the last 2 months. Whilst the Hilton wasn't really in that class, I have to say some aspects of it were very good indeed. Ok the rooms were obviously smaller and the general feel a bit more basic, but and a big but...the rooms have been extremely well designed and the facilities are just how you would want them. The free apple mac tv / pc is superb. The staff were very friendly as many have said. There was a fire alarm on Sunday morning which seemed to cause a fair bit of confusion...not encouraging. The lifts of course stopped working and took an age to get going again. The staff however, did offer to carry our bags down from the 5th floor. Overall an extremely good couple of nights in a great central location and for only £47.50 per room per night!!

Previously used this hotel when it was a Mint Hotel. Excellent service given then, but not so much now. Rooms good and what you would expect to be honest.

Tried to book for lunch for myself and a group of colleagues and was told no the didn't do that, however we arrived back in the hotel the same afternoon after having lunch outside and was quized as to why we hadn't dined there at lunchtime?

Used meeting facilities and room for a business meeting. Not enough seats provided, despite giving no's attending. Paid for LCD projector hire, but didn't work.

Apart from that, it is in a good location. However after this experience, would probably go elsewhere.

Dear Reviewer

Thank you for leaving feedback following your most recent stay with us and please accept my apologies for your disappointing experience. I have spoken to the team involved and steps will be taken to prevent similar occurances in the future.

I would just like to clarify the lunch arrangements as I do believe that this was a cross-communication; whilst our restaurant opens at 5pm, our fantastic lounge bar offers a great selection of menus and snacks all day every day.

I do hope that your recent experience does not deter you from visiting in the future as we would really like the opportunity to welcome you back and restore your faith. If I can be of further assistance with this matter then please do not hesitate to contact me direct at the hotel.

Kind regards

Nicola Underhill

This hotel is in a great location. Right in the city centre but in a quiet square. Lots of restaurants and bars within minutes walk. It is a 10-15 min walk to main shopping area and train station.
Rooms were comfortable and clean, staff were friendly and the free wi-fi was great.

Good hotel - well located - clean etc.
My problem was that on check in - I asked was breakfast included and they
said NO - and that the buffet was £14.95 per day.
I had one breakfast while there on a 4 day trip and when checking out wasn't charged
so checked the booking and presto - breakfast was included all the time !
Moral of the story - not sure !!! Annoyed that I was given incorrect info on check in
and will in future check my bookings fully before arrival !

Very nice hotel with loads of staff.
great location on the canal side with lots of bars and restaurants nearby.
Everything is in walking distance.
It snowed heavily whilst we were there but apart from icy paths everthing was fine.

I was surprised that the Mint brand was so short lived as I loved everything it stood for, but it has left a legacy as each of the rooms at the Hilton still have the Apple Mac computers. Free WIFI in the rooms also commands a mention from me - so thank you!

The rooms at the Hilton are small, but they are compact and seem to have everything you would expect from a 5* chain. Only critism is that the minibars are empty and suppliers need to be purchased from the main reception, not brilliant if you wake up with a thirst in the night!

Breakfast was amazing. A full vegetarian English including the veggie sausages, this is a rare treat for us vegetarians.

The hotel is very close to the ICC, so it's certainly a good alternative to the Hyatt.

Room Tip: Avoid any rooms directly above the restaurant as you will hear the set up of dragging chairs and tab...
