Just back from a night here with 5 friends we had two rooms which each sleep 3 people,
Its very basic but not bad for £8pp a night, better than a hostel as you get your own room. there is sink in your room 1 double bed and a single bunk above it. There is also a seat and a TV.

No toilet or shower in the room, they are down the corridor and are shared with the other guests.
I never used the shower but the toilet was fine and clean.

Free parking on site too which is good.

Very easy check in, no room keys you type in a code to get in your room.

I would stay here again if i was just looking for a cheap clean bed for the night,

Stayed here at the beginning for February for one night. Selected this hotel as it was the cheapest place to stay for three people. We was given a room on the 2nd floor at the end of the corridor.

Good points:

* Hardly any noise: except for the trains which sounded like the ones carrying freight every now and again
* McDonald's: less than 30 seconds walk, I didn't see any boy racers in their modified cars
* Plenty of car parking space

Bad points:

* Room cleaniness: duvets and bed covers weren't so clean
* Toilets: no toilet seat
* Checking out: the cleaners knock on your door before 11am
* Location: quite a distance from the city centre

I would recommend paying £10 more for the room and staying at sister hotel Etap. At least you don't need to share the showers/toilet!

“Hmmm...”

Well, first of all I have to say that this place is really, really cheap and that the two members of staff we met were very pleasant and helpful, especially the nice French lady.

The rooms are 24.95 GBP and sleep 2 or 3 people, in a double bed plus an upper bunk. In fact, if you've ever stayed at an Etap hotel then the rooms are identical here except for the fact that they are not en-suite. The toilets and showers are outside the rooms.. there are alot of them and they are basically clean (they are 'self-cleaning', water must be squirted automatically somehow). They are the same plastic design as in Etap hotels.

There are two main problems with this hotel, despite the very cheap price. The first is the INCREDIBLY noisy location. The traffic noise is deafening even in the middle of the night (boy-racer style engine noises and screeching) so that I really don't think you will sleep here without ear plugs. Even with the window closed. The second problem is that the room really wasn't very clean. The sheets were clean but the bed spread obviously is not changed often and smelled feintly of body odour and cologne. And the room was fairly dirty as well.

Having said all of that, where on earth will you otherwise find a safe and secure bed for 12.50 GBP or 8 GBP (depending on whether 2 or 3 in the room) per person per night. No, I won't be going back but there again if you're looking for a room that's cheap above all else then this is your hotel. I think basically it is fair for the price. The only way you will get a better deal is with the Saver or Supersaver rooms that Travelodge offer paid in advance. Or a hostel or youth hostel. Formule 1, like all of the Accor hotels, has a very fair cancellation policy. You can cancel up to 7pm on the day of arrival with no penalty. You can also arrive at any time and gain access via the 'vending machine' at the entrance.

I have to say (on a positive note) that everything was very efficiently dealt with, the beds were comfortable and also the breakfast which is bread, butter, cereals, hot drinks, juice was also absolutely fine and fair enough for the extra 2.50 GBP. Actually the wholemeal bread was absolutely delicious - one of the nicest breads I've ever had.

If you're really desperate for a cheap place then go ahead, but take your ear-plugs.

I have stayed here many times and overall i can say that this basic but clean and friendly motel gives its guests a clean comfortable pad, a comfortable bed, hot showers, clean toilets.

Rooms are basically furnished and lack any real space to hang clothes etc but these re minor indiscretions. In your room there is a bed with clean bedding, TV, wash basin, the room can accomodate a maximum of 3 persons.

Given that this is a BUDGET hotel, you will find that the hotel attracts groups of young people etc but dont let this put you off, you may make yourself a new friend or 2 if you fancy a bit of fun :)

Nearby (Approx 100m) is a Mcdonalds, and the city centre is a 15 minute walk or less than 5 minutes by bus from outside Mcdonalds (Fare 1 Pound)

Enjoy your stay here! Im sure you will.
