Description: We are a hip neighbourhood gem located on the Harborne High Street and a shining star on the local dining scene. Famous for our down-to-earth gastro menu and edgy decor, The Plough in Harborne has a villagey vibe right in the centre of Birmingham and the crowd is a mix of professionals, music-lovers, ale enthusiasts and young families. Filled with quirky details, we are renowned for our homemade stone-baked pizzas, silky flat whites, and our garden is an ideal spot for lazy Sundays in the sun. We visited the Plough – on a lovely sunny Sunday for an early lunch, arrived at 12.15, and found all the outside dining area was taken. However, we managed to get a table by the door leading to the outside space, which was a good position.

It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food was great – we both had a vegetarian option (although we are not), and thoroughly enjoyed the excellently cooked, well presented meals. The menu also included Sunday roasts, which were available until 1.30pm, breakfast had also been available until 11.30am.

The staff polite and helpful. I would suggest at the weekend reserving a table if you want to dine at a particular time, several tables were booked with the time of the booking, which made them available ‘til that time, excellent idea!

The place I would describe as urban chic, quite eclectic - very interesting, and we liked it very much! Following this first visit I am planning on doing a girls weekday lunch very soon. Would give The Plough - top marks!

What a great place! From the fab, friendly staff, to the super food via the relaxed, buzzing (but in no way pretentious) atmosphere, the Plough is a winner. They even have pic 'n' mix available at the bar, along with an adventerous range of savoury snacks in jars behind the bar. Large beer garden attractively decked out with pots, plants and lanterns. If only all pubs were as good as this.

The Plough is by far the best pub in Harborne and one of the best throughout Birmingham.

It's super super decor with tasty food and extra's such as sweets and olives makes it one of its own. They do great deals of 2 4 1 too which make the visits more appealing as you may find it fairly expensive but by no means extortionate.

The only gripe is that it's very small and cramped (prob due to its popularity) and finding a table is sometimes difficult. Having said that though the beer garden is fantastic with plenty of seating and even a plasma out there! All in all a great pub ...

When asked, "Which pub would you recommend"? One of the first names I mention is The Plough in Harborne High Street, Birmingham. A pub you experience and become absorbed in. The ambience is tremendous, the atmosphere bustling and busy but at times also peaceful and restful especially in the best beer garden you will ever see. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays are 'Two for One' food days which consist of home made burgers, pizza's and pies which are to die for. There is a superb selection of beers and the 'Wye Valley' Butty Bach my favourite tipple. Nibbles and nuts galore and the most helpful and attentive staff you will ever meet. Just go there!
