Having recently moved in to the area we have used and enjoyed this bar several times in the last few weeks. Every time it's been quite quiet. Perhaps, as an earlier reviewer says it doesn't have much passing trade and relies on the daytime business market.
Anyway, the bar is a really nice conversion from an old industrial building, high ceilings, exposed girders etc. Service is good, generally quick and always very friendly.
The food is very good. The sharing boards, sort of a tapas style selection are a good choice for casual dining if you don't fancy a big meal. As was pointed out to me yesterday though, Monday night is steak night. Two steaks and a bottle of wine for £30.
So we had steak. There is a surcharge for fillet steak but not for ribeye or 'hanger' steaks, so we had hanger steak, described as a 'rich gamey cut'. It was served quickly and was nicely presented with lovely big chunky chips and a bit of salad. On top of that it was beautifully cooked and tasted great.
With a bottle of very acceptable wine - fantastic value for a really nice meal.
Looks like Monday night could be steak night for us every week from now on.
